Has anyone seen the movie?

I have read the book twice. It is a great book, the story is so compelling and I can relate pages to my own life in every chapter. Not to mention I live in Alaska and have been to a lot of the areas of the United States Chris has adventured in. It really had a big impact on me and when I entered college we ended up reading the book in Humanities class. It was so great to discuss one of my favorite pieces of literature with others.

Anyways, I highly recommend the book but I am unsure about the movie. I plan on seeing it this Friday.

I just don't think this book should've been made into a movie, but I'm staying open. If you know the story it is kind of strange I think. In Chris's search for meaning in life I certainly knew I found a little slice of it through this book, hopefully the movie will carry a fraction of the value the original had.

What do you guys think? Is anyone else going to watch it? Has anyone else read the book?
