I know there's already a topic on this show, but I looked through a few posts and it contained a bunch of spoilers.

I was wondering if there are many fans of this show on the forum. I've been unable to stop watching it for the past few weeks, I started from the very beginning and now (three weeks later) I'm about halfway through the 3rd season. This show is so addicting!

For those of you who've never seen it, LOST is about a group of people stranded on a mysterious island after the crash of Oceanic Airlines Flight 815. At first it just seems like your standard desert island show, ala Cast Away, but I can assure you it is not! The show is filled with mysteries and suspense, and we learn little by little that this island the survivors land on is very far from ordinary. Nearly every episode ends with a cliffhanger; that's part of what makes this show so damn addictive, as well as this show's ability to make the viewer actively want to find out as much as they can about what is happening plot-wise. I don't want to give anything away for people who have never seen it, but there are some damn unexpected things that happen in this show!

The characters of LOST are all truly believable, and the acting is really good for a television show (in my opinion). During each episode, one specific character's life before the crash is shown through a series of flashbacks that manage to tie into the main plot of each episode. All the characters have something to offer to the greater group, and finding out more about each character's past is one of the fun things about watching this show. Seeing what is happening in these characters' lives at the time of the crash makes you wonder: were these total strangers stranded on this island by chance, or did fate bring them together?

LOST also has a huge amount of mythology, and there are many fansites dedicated to the show and its respective fictitious universe. One of my favorites is lostpedia.com, a website that's meant to mimic wikipedia. It has all kinds of episode synopses, character overviews, and much more.

It's clear to see that the writers/directors/producers of this show truly enjoy what they are doing. It is rare to find a television show with a group of creators that are this dedicated to their work. It really reminds me of J.R.R. Tolkien, and how he completely enveloped himself in his fantasy world of Middle Earth, even going as far as creating an actual Elven language.

Basically, this show rocks. That's the main summary of all this. Anyone looking for a good new show to check out, LOST may be the answer.
