Alright, I saw it. Let me just say that, with no hype and with no bias, this is the best superhero I have ever seen, bar none. It is so much more than a superhero movie, and more twists and turns than I ever expected.

The Joker, is much better and Heath does such an excellent job. I was so happy that he fucking nailed it, but sad at the same time that he's gone ....I wouldn't be surprised if he won awards for his role at all. You really get the feel that you are dealing with a fucking psychopath. It wasn't hard at all keeping my eyes glued to the screen whenever the Joker was on, because he demands your attention in a fashion not seen in a very long time.

Before I go on too long about the Joker (Hell I was excited about this version far before Heath was dead...), this movie is MUCH more character driven than I had imagined. This is not just a Batman vs Joker movie. Every main character has a huge role, some of which could change the entire film.

It just has so many more elements to it than you usually would expect from a hero movie, and still keeps that sense of realism to make ya think "Ya know...that just might happen" or "Fuck, what the hell would I do in that situation?!?"

It captures your every thought and takes you in directions that you may not expect. I don't remember the last time a movie made me sit in awe but there was one part where I was so surprised I sat in awe for almost the whole scene. No joke, jaw down, in fucking AWE. That right there almost sold the whole thing for me. I'm sure you will figure out what part I'm talking about after you see it.

The ending was phenomenal. I usually hate endings...ya know, they always end the same. The Dark Knight throws a bit of a twist. It makes you think "Well, that's not what I thought was gonna happen....but HELL YEAH!!"

So, is it a 10? No. This is not a 10. If I find just a bit too many things wrong, I can never bring myself to rate it a 10. But, as I said, this is definitely the best superhero film I have ever seen. If you can see it, see it. If you can't or don't want to, I suggest seeing it ASAP because this is a must see. If you're one that thinks Batman Begins lacked just a bit of action, this fills all your wants and needs. It's brilliant on 20 different levels.

I'm glad I've finally seen it, but I still have to see a better version. You know me....bleh to theatres. I can't wait to see it in good quality, and I don't buy many DVD's but I just might have to for this one.

Let me know what you guys think if you've seen it. If not, well what the fuck are you waiting for?!

P.S. I just have to share this. This was the description of the torrent I downloaded. It made me laugh pretty hard Foreign obviously but the description is priceless.

At last this movie been waiting long time 1960 era came tv-show it was superb and movie 1990 remembered again dc hero new era BATMAN 1(THE JOKER)+2(PINGVIN)+3(MUSTERY+TWO-FACE)+4(ICEMAN+GREEN WOMAN) WELL THESE 1990 FOUR MOVIES WAS IT´S TIME REPRESENTING BUT ONE MAYBE TWO WAS OK , BUT ARNOLD IN MOVIE OR ROBIN CaME ALSO FROM 1960 SERIE BAD ... I just saw it today and I agree 100% with everything you said Dark. This was definitely the best superhero movie I've seen yet. It was a definite HUGE step above the last Batman movie with Joker in it. At the time, that movie was kick ass too! But now-a-days, the Joker in that movie is obviously acting. I felt like he was like the Joker from the TV series (if any of you have seen it...pretty damn old). This new Joker completely blew me away! I believed the part completely! This new Joker is exactly how I envisioned him to be after seeing him in the Batman comics... Complete psychopath and creepy as shit!

The movie did get a little long as the second hour had gone by... and I thought the movie was going to end about 5 different times, but it just kept on going! Honestly the Joker is the character that kept me interested throughout the entire thing. But don't get me wrong... I still enjoyed the whole film! I just got antsy from sitting there for almost 3 hours!

One recommendation I'd like to give is to see this movie at the IMAX! I've seen plenty of movies at the IMAX (Batman Begins, Spiderman 2, Spiderman 3, Superman, Harry Potter movies, etc) and though the ticket is usually around $14... WORTH EVERY PENNY! (depending on the theater ofcourse) If you haven't seen a movie at the IMAX yet, THIS WOULD BE THE ONE TO START WITH!

Now get ur ass off the couch and see this movie already!

Peace,
Jew

The dark knight is officially one of the top 10 flicks that I have ever seen. It's been a while since I've seen a flick where I want to recommend before it leaves the theaters. Surprisingly people actually applauded once the movie ended, which usually never happens due to apathy.

Without sounding too fan boyish, it was damn epic.

I just heard on The Today Show that Christian Bale has been arrested for domestic violence, and his mother and sister made the call. This has not been confirmed yet, but I hope it is not true.

Seeing this on an IMAX screen is a good occasion for a cooking project. Definitely see it in IMAX if you can, it's worth drive/extra cash... almost worth the crowds if you don't want to wait. The sequences shot in IMAX give this movie a genuine epic feel that's quite unlike anything since the era of genuine epics ala Ben Hur and Spartacus. And Ledger's performance isn't hype.

It wasn't perfect... I tend to be picky and this movie goes with a tight framing/quick cutting style of action scene that's all too common that I really don't dig at all... but on most other levels this movie really delivers.

Again, I can't recommend enough waiting to see this in an IMAX theater. It'd still be a really good film in a regular theater or on DVD or Blu-Ray. But it's an EXPERIENCE in IMAX.

SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER

Ok. I just had to say this because its one of the most chilling last words of a movie I've ever heard. It made me completely geeked for the 3rd installment before the 2nd was even completely over.

"Why is he running Dad?"
"Because we have to chase him."
"...He didn't do anything wrong."
"Because he's the hero Gotham deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hunt him. Because he can take it. Because he's not a hero.....He's a silent guardian... A watchful protector....The Dark Knight"

I'm thinking they planned on having Heath for the sequel . It's pretty obvious when he doesn't die, and one of the lines in the movie is "We're destined to do this forever" or something of that sort. I have a feeling it would be the Joker and someone else in the third. Two Face was dead I think. There is speculation, but it seemed pretty obvious to me. It kinda sucks though. Two Face was my favorite villain of the Batman series back in the day.
Anyway, yeah don't want to completely make this a spoiler thread, so I'll just leave it all at that

Just got back from seeing it! Fantastic. Heath Ledger is the ultimate bad guy. And throughout u just know he aint gonna get caught. Which made u feel Batman's desperate situation. It was awesome.

Edit: Please tell in your post about spoilers. It's not a rule on the board, but I would appreciate it - Dark. SPOILERRRR

SPOILER....

Dark, I wouldn't be sure that Two-Face is dead. I think they built up his character so much towards the end for a reason. BTW I love that quote about the dark knight from Gordon.
