same here, there is a lot of songs that remind of various things in the past and make me sad.

going along the classical vein i'd have to say Fantasia on a Theme of Thomas Tallis by Vaughan Williams. i find the melody to be very depressing, especially the solo violins and such, great piece though.

For some reason Moonlight Sonata... makes me feel like shit. Don't know why. It's beautiful; but the song just reminds me of dread...

Queen - "Who wants to live forever?" off the Highlander soundtrack. Beautiful song, but damn is it depressing.

Some good ones already listed...

A few of my favorite 'sad songs'

And my all time favorite depressing song...

Such a sad song but I cannot help but associate it with the blood and gore of Gears of War after they used it in an advertisement.

Whiskey Lullaby is an incredibly sad song. Also, Concrete Angel by Martina McBride and Angel by Sarah McLachlan are two wicked depressing songs. Their beautiful songs, but they always make me sad.

I can barely stand to listen to "Angel" anymore, and then Sarah McLachlan endorses the SPCA. I see that commercial constantly, and coupled with all the video of the abused animals, and I'm bawling.
