That video I posted on here earlier talking about Soulja on Maxim, that goes along with what everyone else is sayin, you could turn anything into a hit, it doesn't take much at all. Not sure if anyone watched it but sometime after 3 minutes he made a verse and threw in a beat and showed how easy it is to sing about nothing and it will sound good even though it's crap. Just get a artist recognized and then play the corporate game and start producing shitty songs.

Juicy is Hip Hop, but I've never classified any old Snoop Dogg song as hip hop, strictly rap.

Soulja Boy..sucks.
But...if you ask me, hip-hop hasn't changed that much...it's just evolved with culture. Ice-T was old school rap if you ask me, not close to hip-hop. Some hip-hop was just as bad as soulja boy and yet it seems to be forgotten about when thinking about old school rap/hip-hop.

I wonder why people think soulja boy is so much worse. THESE songs are old school hiphop relateable to soulja boy. For Ice-T to battle Soulja Boy would be like Wu-Tang battling 2 live crew. It's obvious who would obliterate the competition, but it's two completely different groups.

that is another problem that i have with people's views on music. people will bandwagon all over shit just because its old and they will preach that all the new stuff sucks.

Word. Another great example of HORRIBLE hooks are from three 6. They used to be tight, but now its just "lets plan a robbery" and any other bullshit hooks you can think of.

The hiphop industry just needs to do away with hooks for a while.
