My friends, I bring you information on one the greatest and uplifting bands of all times: Apollo Sunshine.
They grew up and went to school in my hometown, and they play here every year. In fact, I just saw them for the first time on Friday, and it was ****ing awesome. Their energy was present throughout the show and I'm still feeling really happy.
I can't really describe their sound, so go to myspace.com/apollosunshine and apollosunshine.com to hear for yourself. Even better, go to one of their shows. The one I went to was $7 for students and $10 for everyone else (I think they list prices for each show on their myspace). At the show that I went to, they used feedback, trippy mangled organs, and some samples really well, even though they have a sort of folk feel to their music. I wasn't high, but I wish I was.

Pretty sick, kinda like The Beatles except I think I might like Apollo Sunshine even more, Beatles are just too popy sometimes :P

They seem alright from what I just listened to on youtube. Nothing like the Beatles like Audio says.

They just sound like good guys to bring to a bonfire though, I don't think I'd pop em into my radio to listen to if you understand.

All rock music made after 1963 owes a great deal to the Beatles.

That's like comparing an atomic bomb to a supernova. Just because the uranium owes its creation to the extreme forces in the centre of a supernova does not mean the atomic bomb is anywhere near comparable to the Supernova.

If you're saying that these Compare to the Beatles, I've got some great 'comparable' land just outside the Vegas city limits I think you'd love.

God d**n, don't get your panties in a bunch. I wasn't comparing them to the Beatles, just trying to describe their sound. When I heard the song 666 I just thought of the Beatles cause of the vocal harmonies they use, then realized they are both kinda positive feeling psychedelic rock(though Beatles cover a much wider range of rock than just psychedelic rock). I know theres lots of other bands that use those kind of vocal harmonies, but Beatles is the one I thought of, so deal with it.

Talent and originality wise they are in-comparable, but they are definitely comparable in style.

Personally(that means its just my opinion, so no need to flame me all you angry "Beatles fans"(used quotes cause real Beatles fans tend to be more happy accepting people)) Beatles are pretty low on the list of bands I like to listen to, though I do appreciate their contribution to music.

**EDIT-the Beatles style i was talking about is heard more on the newer album that is on their myspace, didn't listen to the other stuff until now. The songs on the older albums are more modern rock than classic rock.
