I could never see Riders as boring, it's probably their deepest song off ANY album after the first three. At times it's eerily haunting, truly a "calm before the storm".
The Doors are one of those rare bands that every time I listen to them, I get something new out of the song. The only other bands/artists that do that for me are Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, and Bob Marley. The End is beyond all doubt in my mind one of the 10 greatest songs ever. Then we have such sogns as The Unknown Soldier, Five To One, When The Music's Over, and Celebration of the Lizard King. The whole Morrison Hotel album brings back some really vivid memories of people, times, and events that have shaped me as a person.

Agreed.....as much as some people try to write the Doors off as a cliche stoner band, they have some absolutely amazing material. Its a damn shame Jim Morrison died young like so many other great artists. Age 27 must be a bitch to get though.....it claimed Morrison, hendrix, joplin, Cobain, and I think Nowell from Sublime as well......all amazing artists in their own right, despite being prone to the same addictions as anyone else could be

Any overplayed song will get boring.

I used to listen to Roadhouse Blues repeatedly. Now it's just another tune.

I'm pretty sure his girlfriend, Pam, died at 27 as well.

Roadhouse Blues and Redhouse by Jimi Hendrix are my two favorites as of now.

if pam did die at 27 its not a suprise. she became a junky and i think even a prostitute!
i wish that she was never born i think she was a bad influence on jim and she kinda had a hand in his death IMO.

Oops, I started off editing your post instead of quoting..

I agree with you on that one to a degree. I've read that she turned him on to an injectable off-topic that really hastened his demise. But really the way he was going, something was going to happen sooner or later. It would have been insane to listen to him once he'd gotten older though.
