I hate ozzy's solo career. I mean there IS some good stuff there and all of his guitarists have written good songs and bob daisley is a great bass player but 75% of it is pop-metal crap.

Now the first 8 Black Sabbath albums will kill you if you're not careful. GREATEST SONGS:

15)Children of the Grave
14)Planet Caravan
13)Lord of This world
12)Sabbra Cadabra
11)Supernaught
10)Hole in the Sky
9)Simptom of the Universe
8)Looking for Today
7)A National Acorobat
6)Electric Funeral
5)Fairys Wear Boots
4)Meglomania
3)Into the Void
2)Snowblind
1)Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

(not to dismiss Warpigs, Iron Man, Paranoid, The Wizard, or Sweet leaf, but i've just heard them too many times on the radio)

Children Of The Grave is one awesome tune. But Ozzy's totally better off without Sabbath.

Default My opinions too

Randy Rhoads was the greatest guitar player who ever lived. Zack Wylde absolutely sucked in comparison, but I think RR was better than Jimi himself. I believe that Ozzy's best music was with Sabbath (THEY FREAKING INVENTED HEAVY METAL!!!) and that Tony Iommi was truly great, but RR was truly the greatest axeman ever and had he lived longer this opinion would be more widespread. Tragically his life was cut very short (22 or 23, not gonna look it up) on one of the rare occasions he chose to party with the band, and on a few drinks trusted a coked-up pilot to take him on a joy-ride.

He was the man to revitalize Ozzy's career immediately following Ozzy's Black Sabbath departure and SET HIM UP to be a singles star. Had Randy not been writing back in the hotel rooms while Ozzy was being a drunk wondering what the fock he was gonna next, Ozzy might never had made a name as a "solo" artist. Yes Ozzy chose which songs he liked best (that the most phenomenal guitarist ever was writing) but there very possibly would be no Ozzy had he never been introduced to the tiny classical guitarist and shredding powerhouse, Randy Rhoads. "They would come to the shows to see Ozzy, and left saying they had seen Ozzy and Randy." This man knew what he was doing with a guitar and Zack Wylde, and a slough of others, had nothing on him. He was honestly talented and honestly a student of music.

I know Randy is not entirely responsible for Ozzy's life after Sabbath. Ozzy was 1/4 of the conception of heavy metal music. But Randy sure helped him out. Take a listen to "Tribute" for most of the classics from the Ozzy/Randy era done live. Randy wrote those, and Ozzy liked them enough to sing along.

Without Black Sabbath there would be no Ozzy <---As Ozzy himself said, and without Randy Rhoads there would be no Ozzy.(possibly)

BUT, NOW, without Black Sabbath or Randy Rhoads, there is still Ozzy.

Beelzabong,"but 75% of it is pop-metal crap. " I would be interested in your examples to support this claim.

huh? ,"Ozzy's best music was with Sabbath (THEY FREAKING INVENTED HEAVY METAL!!!) " I don't think anybody would dispute that particular fact.

One of my best friends Idolizes Randy Rhoads, Pictures everywhere, desktop wallpaper, just an all out Randy Freak. He's a guitarist ofcourse so it makes sense. I have had these different conversations on more than 1 occasion for sure. I can tell "huh?" has done his homework on Randy. And you are exactly correct, Randy was truely a student of music.

huh?,,Can you tell me how Zack landed his job with Ozzy? What was it about Zack that piqued Ozzy's interest & made Ozzy keep him and accept him back after a brief solo career? Do you know?

Default Did you talk to the dead?

I can't say I know, Allister. I think it might be that Ozzy once wanted to record a "Farewell To Randy Rhoads" album with Zack playing songs that Ozzy and Randy wrote together? Is that it or is it even along those lines? I didn't like Zack's playing all that much save a few songs, was never really a fan, he may have joined Ozzy at 19 years old, or maybe that was Jake E. Lee?

pop-metal ozzy songs:

shot in the dark, crazy babies, momma i'm comming home, bark at the moon, that whole live album were he alowed that dingus guitar wanker brad gillis from night ranger of all bands to slaughter Iommi's greatest riffs, I don't want to change the world, road to nowhere, no rest for the wicked is constantly in the 99 cent bin where it belongs, you can't kill rock and roll, i just want you, CLOSE MY EYES FOREVER(that may be lita ford but he should have his vocal chords removed for that $hit...christ just join bon freaking jovi already.

don't get me wrong, sabbath ain't all that without ozzy. i can't even name thier gay-assed songs because i can't even bring myself to listen to that crap. just the fact that they helped ronnie james peehole launch his carreer makes me want to burn all my sabbath albums and posters. sabbath without ozzy, is like a bong without weed.

ozzy, iommi, butler, ward..nothing can touch it. nothing.

ps
cool solo ozzy: goodbye to romance, mr crowley, crazy train, perry mason, no more tears, i don't know

ive had a pretty depressing life, lol.... and alot of these songs bring back some pretty poignant feelings.. but here it goes...in chronological order of the times in my life...

[korn - clown] - i originally got into smoking weed on my own and id get stoned in the morning before school and walk to school listening to this song, the whole time thinking i was in some awesome band lol

[ruff ryders anthem - dmx] - this song brings back insane memories of parties i would have during the summer before my life went to hell. i hear this song and i get pretty nostalgic because all i really have to do is close my eyes and im back on that night. i always see all my closest friends in the pool, washed over w/ the light from the poolhouse and steam rising off the water and floating into the air. its pretty sad

[take a chance - zebrahead] - i pretty hate this song because it brings back horrible memories because this marked the beginning of my disastrous life. around this time i got ripped away from most of my friends and shoved into a new town when my parents divorced. but luckily i had my buds (yes.. marijuana buds) to console me.

[sell all my old clothes im off to heaven - saves the day] - this is not really related to weed in anyway except that i was smoking weed during the time i listened to this song. i had it pretty bad for one girl but i really trashed it w/ my actions and mouth. there still a little piece of me that remains open for this girl. this is one thing i would really give anything to change.

well.. there are more songs i can name off, but i wont. these arent exactly classics but they are definetly songs that remind me of life.

Talking How did Zack get the job?

You have Tony Iommi who created some of the basic fundamental guitar riffs, which in itself gives him the originality of it all. RANDY, takes the originality, adds style, tricks, personality, and hard work and dedication,,combines new invention with Classical perfection. Jake E Lee, Cant do what Tony and Randy has done so he just Rocks his jock!

ZACK, finishes the Ultimate Sin by demonstarating his ability to follow through at his own flare and kickback and says, " Hell Man! I can do it ALL too."

So who is the best guitarist? In the words of OZZY himself, "I Love You All!"

------------------

On another thought,,Zack getting his job!

In An article in a magazine Ozzy asks This young rooky entrepenuer,"Can you play any Randy Rhoads or Tony Iommi' songs and what can you do with Jake?" Then, Ozzy said," That with no reply. Zack begins to play." 30minutes later he has earned his job and a spot in heavy metal history. 6 Hours later,, Ozzy said, " I dont know any more songs, I can't think of anymore songs, Please pack up your instrument and leave my studio. I need you to go get ready for the tour."

There wasnt ONE song that Zack couldn't play,,Note for Note.

Food for thought! All of the previous guitarists wrote hit numbers with Ozzy, with the exception of Brag Gillis. However, Brad also needs to be commended for learning Randy' entire resume in less than a week to take over on the tour of that time. Thats dedication!

If you ask a bench warmer, with a superbowl ring, "Did he feel like he earned it without playing?" He might reply," I was in the right place at the right time and deffinately on the RIGHT team."

ME? Im flying High again!

KEEP ON SMOKING THEM JOINTS!
