| Everyone just stop. Your all just saying the same thing to each other. He is stating His (Tainted's) opinion. Now I'm right along Tainted, music has taken a wrong turn in my point of view. Now all you need is a microphone, turn-tables, or 4 of your friends after taking singing lessons to start a successful band. Music maybe good in different ways, but think about it. Music used to be about being good at something, like playing guitar, piano, singing, drums, etc. Now it takes barely any skill. Rock n' Roll is the only skillful music now a day's. As for techno, I think it's the worse thing to ever happen to music. But that's my opinion and it shouldn't offend you. As for old 60's rock n' roll. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, now there was some talent! It's really sad we don't see that around anymore. Nirvana brought it back until Kurt died. Blink-182 is an awsome band. But the 60's must have been a great time in music. P.S. - Tainted, please use spell check and good punctuation, as best you can, do it for the people that come to this site (That are anti-pot/learning about pot). They don't want to see some lazy people typing on the computer. Make this site presentable as it has always been.

| I recently caught myself thinking that music is going downhill, that it peaked in the early-mid 90's when Grunge was God, but now music is lame. This is a dangerous rut to get stuck in, avoid it. Think about it; we all probably know people who think music peaked at different periods, and, if they don't agree with us, we think they're close-minded, or just plain wrong. I have an older sister who thinks music peaked in the mid 80's, when metal was popular (and she was a senior in high school). I have a friend who grew up in the 70s and he thinks music from that period (Zepplin, Frampton, Eagles, Steve Miller, etc.) is the best. My grandmother thinks music peaked in the 40's with big band. I think you can look at popular music and say tastes have changed. If you listen to popular radio or MTV these days the focus has shifted to boy bands, teenie pop, hip hop, and not so much rock. But say 6 or 7 years ago a lot of what you heard or saw was geared toward alternative, because it took of so strongly and folks were making money off of it. So you saw Nirvana, Green Day, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Candlebox, Silver Chair, etc. etc. Lots of music that appealed to me getting a lot of exposure, so I was happy. But now, that stuff isn't getting played so much, but it's still out there, great music from all different gendres is being created everyday. We as music lovers just have to be more active in searching it out, less critical of what is being shoved down our throats. Close your mouth, open your ears, and find some music that interests you. Again, it IS out there. As far as talent goes, I don't worry about that so much. If it moves me, it moves me. Whether it's a simple three-chord punk song (think Ramones--great stuff), or maybe a thick bass line and drum beat behind simple rhymes (like Snoop, perhaps), if it makes me nod my head along with the beat or sing along, then it's good. It's easier that way, then getting caught up in thinking if you should like something because of what the band represents or something. On a lighter note, I'm REALLY looking forward to listening to some great music tomorrow! I've been starving myself of weed for the past 2 weeks just to really celebrate tomorrow! | |

| My grandma was still listening to Lawrence Welk when she died in 2000. Once music is created,it cannot be destroyed. b.s.
