Thumbs up

i was a bit disappointed to find that not many of you list mmw (medeski, martin, & wood) as a great band to listen to while high.
if you like crazy improv stuff that is really groovy and other-worldly sometimes, check 'em out! good good ****!
i listen to mmw all tha ****in time.
and don't ever pass up an oportunity to see 'em live!

One of my favorite bands. Unfortunately, I only have 2 of there albums and none of there live stuff, though I'm trying to get a bnp or trade for some (if anyone's interested, check out my list at db.etree.org/bailey1138). I'd really love to see them live too, but they're never around my area. Might have to drive from Ohio to Massachussetts this summer to see them, that's as close as they'll be. I have a feeling it'll be worth it though. Peace and love.

howdy everyone, i am new to the boards and figured i would finally join in a discussion.

i am a long time fan of M,M&W! they combine modern improvizational techniques with conventional jazz theory and always seem to be reinventing themselves. i just saw them at JMU in harrisonburg, va a few weeks ago, and they blew my mind again. it was my 5th show seeing them, and i was still amazed. definitely a band to check out.

other bands i enjoy are: the grateful dead, phish, paul simon, radiohead, negativland, the weakerthans, propagandhi, moe, widespread panic and many more. i'm also a big fan of all styles of classical music. i have a great appreciation for it because partly because i play the cello and have grown up on it. check some of those bands out, or get some good instrumental music...it's great while you're straight, or high. ;-)
