| Whats with this surge of started posts containing @#$#$ every other line, if your trying to make a point im sure it will come across better without so many blanked out words and idiotic swear expressions. I know your trying to say its good music but just say its good music man and the point gets across. Anyway in response the most cool messed up music i have heard has to be some of the techno music i have on my pc, like ECT Squark, now thats messed up music its fast techno and just whoa... | Senior Member ![]() | Miles Davis' album *****es Brew, it's one of the first fusion albums and also has a lot of free jazz influences. Basically, you take 10, 11, 12, 13, I don't recall exactly how many, of the best jazz musicians of the day, give 'em some very early electric instruments, and have some fun screwing around in the recording studio. It says on the album, "directions in music by Miles Davis" and it's a lot closer to that than it is to actual songs. I'd see if you can find "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" or for a smaller file, "John McLaughlin" on napster or whatever, they'll give a good taste of what this album is really about. If you really dig it, and you have some cash lying around, check out the 6 CD (I think) box set which contains all the recordings from all the sessions for the album. The actual album is only 2 CD's. |

| Subscriber ![]() | Pre-"Dark Side of The Moon" Pink Floyd and Radiohead are two wonderfully whacked out bands. Crazy music and sounds that seem to come from nowhere and go nowhere, yet come together so wonderfully. Those are two very big recommendations from yours truly. Especially Radiohead... nothing quite like smoking a bone and zoning out to something like O.K. Computer. --K. |

| Man, when I listen to music while stoned I like stuff that blows my mind. I went out and bought these giant Sony high sound quality headphones so I could hear every single note and sound on my cd's...especially for listening while baked. Radiohead's Kid A is amazing when you're ****ed up, even when you're not. Super weird sounds, shooting all over from speaker to speaker, awesome. If you feel frustrated or want something with balls, listen to anything by the band AFI. In fact, if you have napster, download "narrative of soul against soul" by AFI right now. Awesome. | |

| Im going to have to say some of the most "whacked out" music i have heard is Pink Floyd and the Flaming Lips. For those of you who have not heard of the Flamin Lips i recommend you buy one of their cd's and see how you like them. The cd comes with 4 cds and you are supposed to play all four cds simultaneously in four different stereos. I have not tried this yet but heard it is "better" than Pink Floyd. I however have listened to the remastered version which had all 4 cds recorded onto one at the same time, but my friend has told me you lose the whole effect of it. One of the more "whacked out" songs i have heard and recommend downloading is Pee Wee's Big Adventure (breakfast machine) by Danny Elfman. Yes this is the theme song to pee wee's big adventure and is crazy to listen to while baked out of your mind. I also have to agree i have one of Plastikman's cds and his stuff is pretty wild as well but not for everyone. It has alot more of a techno/trance sound too it. | |

| Senior Member ![]() | I saw the Flaming Lips in concert once, weird show, but really cool. I believe the name of the album you're referring to is Zaireeka (sp?). I don't have it, but I've heard good things. Probably shouldn't try to start people off with a 4 CD set, check out Transmissions From the Satellite Heart or the Soft Bulletin first. Both great albums, some of the most original stuff being made today. |
