Hey, guys;
What are some songs that DIRECTLY talk about or endorse smoking marijuana? The only ones I can think of right now are "Smoke 2 Joints" by Sublime, "Smoke Some Pot" by x and "Stoned" by Smashmouth. I know I am overlooking a bunch, so any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!!

Puff the Magic Dragon by Crazy Fingers ....goes something like this:

"Puff the magic dragon at the party, if its all natural put it in your body, Chongs on the bong and so is Bob Marley...." You get the point

Hmm..what else...oh yeah, "Girl on LSD" by Tom Petty, it mentions marijuana along with a lot of other things...pretty funny song. ("I was in love with a girl on marijuana, she said if I'm not stoned I don't wanna and she got sooo paranoid...her place I would avoid..I was in love with a girl on marijuana") Doesn't exactly "endorse" marijuana but I recommend that you download it.


There's that scary Eminem song too..."The Drug Ballad"

"I Smoke Weed" - Wesley Willis...this guy is insane...he was some homeless dude in Chicago who had a little electric keyboard and recorded a bunch of crazy songs...he's awesome

"Mr. Tambourine Man" is about marijuana? You're gonna have to explain that to me, always seemed to me it was just about a street musician or something. The argument could be made that "Rainy Day Women No. 12 & 35" is about pot, but the way he says "everybody must get stoned" it could be a reference to stonings as in the biblical-era punishment.

Wesley Willis, I love that guy, his music is so incredibly awful, you just have to hear it just so you can say you've heard the worst music ever made.

Anyway, Ekoostik Hookah has a couple tunes that mention smoking. From "Loner": "And they were asking me, how much do you smoke pot? I just like to get high and high and high and high and hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigher!"
Also "Keepin' Time" and "35" both make smoking references, and I'm sure there are a number of others, but those are all I can recall.

Also, the Phish song "Makisupa Policeman" has keyword everytime they do it. The keyword is some herb reference like "headie nuggets", "schhhhhhhhhhhwag", "stink kind" you get the idea.

I'm not positive, but I'm *pretty sure* it's an extended metaphor about a drug dealer (Mr. Tambourine Man), drugs, etc...I think I might have also heard that in one of those "Cool-Teacher-Teaches-His-Students-About-"Hip"-Poetry" type of movies...not sure which one .
