| Oh, man. I can't believe I haven't seen a thread for this band yet, because A.A.F. is easily the best new band I've heard in at least 10 years. Their debut album "ANThology" is a must-buy. Every single track is good. I kid you not. The most outstanding songs are Courage, Movies, Summer, Attitude, Wish, and of course the Michael Jackson cover, Smooth Criminal. But the whole entire album is a great listen, from beginning to end. A.A.F. is considered (by me) to be the Led Zeppelin of the 21st century. Each instrumentalist is among the best of best at what they do. Terence Corso is an excellent and fluent guitarist, cranking out riffs and chords that make me say "Goddamn, I wish my band sounded like that." Drummer (or should I say "drummist") Mike Cosgrove and multi-talented bassist Tye Zamora are easily the tightest rhythm section I've ever heard. It's no wonder, considering they were both in a Primus cover band called "Tyemus." I could go on for pages at a time about how damn good Tye is at bass guitar, but I'll just say this: He's as high in my book as Les Claypool and Flea. The frontman and singer leading all this madness is Dryden Mitchell. The words and notes that pour out of his V-shaven head are very original and soul-striking. It's been a long time since I've heard a new band who's lead singer has such a unique voice and style of singing. The only quirk I have is it seems that every song is about a girl or a relationship, but it still sounds mighty fine. Folks, this is the next album you have to buy. It's worth every cent and is something that will one day become a classic. By horrible, HORRIBLE misfortune, my copy of this CD broke. It will be the first CD that I will actually go out buy another copy of. It's that good. --K. |

| alien ant farm? who the hell is that? speaking of rock nowadays...well, i'd have to say that alot of new stuff is really lame and it all sounds the same really. music today is bad....reeeeeallly bad....no alot of room for innovation since most everything has been done before, and there are so many bands out there that just suck and all they want is their spot on mtv and everything that goes with it. it's all about the money. it really depresses me in a way. i'd love to see good new bands come forth and bring a new age of rock...but...sadly, it's unlikley |
