Default a delicate decision...

everyone knows that reggae is pot music. however, i tend to be more into harder stuff, it helps me to stay awake and stuff. like, reggae is cool but only sometimes. so i listen to a lot of ska-punk, like less than jake and stuff.
i listen to rock/tekno too... prodigy, fatboy slim, lords of acid, etc.
and classic rock. metallica, van halen, etc.
anyone else into ska/punk?

it depends really. I grew up on punk rock and hardcore and I got to see it during the rebirth but these days the scenes are full of people who don't really care about the music, it's just fashionable to be involved in punk or hardcore. These days I find myself listening to a lot of old school stuff, the music I grew up on rather than pop-punk or Ska (which for the most part sucks).

As far as Ska goes I'll just listen to The Specials or Inspecter 7. Most of the 2nd wave or 2-Tone stuff from Moon Ska is great. As far as punk goes, I dig way back. Iggy and the Stooges (noonch!), the Misfits, Ramones. Old stuff, you know? I dig a little Business now and then. On the pop side I keep it in a more emo-related vein. Internation Noise Conspiracy is good, as is Alkaline Trio, Getup Kids, Saves the Day. I don't even bother with hardcore anymore.

Ask me any time and I'll usually go off on some angry rant about how punk is dead and the music sucks and the people involved in it suck. I'm just old school and bitter.

I listen to old skool ska, like the Skatellites (REALLY hard to find, but definately worth the effort), the same stuff that Bob Marley listened to growing up. I don't listen to any of the harder stuff that has been (mistakenly) called ska in the late part of the century.

Default stuff

the skatellites aren't hard to find...
as for new punk/old punk... i'm more into the old stuff, some of the newer stuff but mostly older... i like the "newer" ska bands though (along with the older ones)...
i love the specials. i like social distortion, skankin pickle, misfits are f*ckin AWESOME... dead kennedys... atari teenage riot... umm... my brain isn't working too good right now but you get my drift...
hehe
"we gotta show we're ADULTS now. we're not a punk rock band, we're a NEW WAVE band..." dead kennedys crack me up, hey.
