Default The power of improvisational music

I see that a lot of folks here dig imrovisational music and I just wanted to share a little anecdote about its power that happened last summer.

Ok, me, my brother, and a friend of mine are jamming(I'm playing guitar). Needless to say we smoked up beforehand. We didn't know what to play so my friend just started playing this bassline and we took off from there.

After a few minutes I started to notice this rush coming up on me. It was not unlike a headrush, which scared me at first. I didn't want to pass out while playing, but this I felt was different, so I decided to follow it. I let it guide my hand around the fretboard and it built up to an incredible climax. The only way I can describe it was like a spiritual orgasm. I literaly had to check myself to make sure I didn't cream my pants. But it was different than just an orgasm. It came from somewhere else. I'm not really sure where, but it was amazingly beautiful nontheless. Words do not have the capacity to properly express the emotion that went into this occurence. Sometimes I wonder if I could have reached that without marijuana, but it does show the link between weed, music and spirituality, for me at least. peace and love

That's one of the greatest feelings when you're really making music. When it comes together. Awesome is the only description that begins to come near.

It just happens, sometimes with weed, sometimes without... the Greeks called it the Muse (we still use the expression "when the muse strikess" when talking about something creative coming to mind . FYI, the Muses are female, and the Muse for music is named Kaleiope (kah-lie-oh-pee). Might help explain the "passion" a bit .. she is a voluptuous creature.

hey schwadood-i know just where you are coming from. I love jamming when I am high and I haven't gotten that kind of a climax, but I have come close. I dont understand how some people can say that they dont like music or listen to music, music is so powerful...

believe it or not, my friend, there are some people out there who are afraid of that kind of power. They're the same people who watch a lot of mtv. I won't ever to be understand these people, but that's alright. I guess they'll never understand me either.
