YOU DONT EVEN UNDERSTAND HOW MUCH IM FEELIN THE ROOTS!!! ive seen em live three times (House of Blues-Myrtle Beach, Okayplayer tour Blacksburg, Va and ATL) i got to smoke w/ Dice Raw in blacksburg cuz he was a friend of a friend...i've got all their shyt, and just cuz i'm female doesnt mean im a groupie or anything, im a real hip-hop fan...the shows i caught were ***crazy*** packed and everbody was feelin em...they keep the crowd hype the whole time...its funny, at the Okayplayer tour in VA, it was at VA Tech (a mostly white school)...Dead Prez had all these white boys singing "Im an African" AND THEY MEANT IT!!! i was like, Damn! the power of hiphop!!!

VJ, thats tight. Yeah, the roots are so tight live, one of the best bands. I also have all of their ish, even Organix. I went to their concert last Saturday at Georgetown in D.C. Kamal was looking to smoke a blunt but I had already smoked up all my herb before the concert! Damn!

Anyways, I got all of their autographs and got to chill with them for like an hour after the show. They kick ass.

...ooooh, Kamal (my future baby's daddy ) ....ok but whats your all time favorite Roots album? Mine? Illadelph Halflife, it was the first one i ever bought, tracks like Clones, Concerto of the Desperado, the joint w/ Scratch doing his thing...BANANAS! , you know, i never heard Organix, i only knew one other perason who had it..you never see it in stores, is it only available across the water or what?
also, Ursula Rucker...i've been doing spoken word for a minute now, but it wasn't until i heard her do her thing on their albums that i thought i could make a living doing it...(then JCMoore, Saul Williams, and Medina got big)...i love that they feature her work, but i've always wondered, why doesn't she do shows w/ them? or maybe she does the local shows in Philly, Jersey maybe NY..I dunno

i saw the roots at martime hall once...it was such a phat show...especially when rahzel came out and started doin his beat box solo like the ones on his solo album..that WAS RECORDED AT MARTIME HALL LIVE!#%

I never really listened to the Roots and then I saw them at Area One tour. They are great. I was totally chilling the entire time.
