| Bailey, I have you to thank for this one. I was going over your setlists (haven't traded tapes since college) and noticed your large collection of Ekoostik Hookah shows. So I checked out their website and loved the fact that you can check out their shows in mp3 right from there. This band is everything I want Widespread Panic and String Cheese to be (two bands that I like [found fairly recently] and have seen, but just can't fully get into). I've got a few shows to check out for today (makes work much more pleasant) and can say I will do everything in my power to make hookahville next year. Very excited I found this band. | |

| Believe me brother, if you thought the mp3's sounded good, wait till you hear them live! Me and Bailey have seen them more than twenty times and it keeps getting better. You probably saw this on their website, but hookah is having a festival at Frontier Ranch on Oct. 13 with Ray's Music Exchange and the Shantee, both really good bands. Frontier Ranch is about 20 minutes east of Columbus off of I-70. Directions at the website. I'm not sure where you're at, but it will be a good show. And its only $35 at the door for two days of camping and one day of music. And Hookahville is a blast! Kind brothers and sisters sharing kind things with kind music. Add a few surprises and what more could you ask for? Bailey won't be able to respond for a while since he's heading to Cinci to catch Hookah right after work (I work to late ) but he's always willing to do B&P's. Just send him some blank discs and return postage and he'll burn you some shows. I recommend 4-14-01 or any hookahville show![]()

| Sounds like a plan. Well, I'm in Colorado, and although I would love to see that festival, I don't think I can manage a trip that size for a weekend. But I will work on getting some more shows (I'm listening to the 06-19-99 Hookahville sets now - and they are sweet). I see you are info disk golf too - I used to play all the time (got many people hooked on this too) back when I lived on the east coast. I remember a friend of mine were playing one day and some kids in front of us were smoking up on hole #4 (I mean, how can you not?) and that hole from then on out has been known as the 'pot hole'. But I digress... Yes, this is supurb sittin' in the sun on the deck of the ski lodge type music to me. I'd love to see 'em at Red Rocks. Their concert schedule stops at the end of the month, so I can't see if they are thinking of coming out this way.... | |

| I'm willing to bet that hookah will be out Colorado ways sometime during the winter. I mean, its ski season. And that 6-19 show is a good one. Its right after they got back from Jaimaca so they were still feeling those good vibes. Hookah did a Jaimaca trip in 99 where they chatered a plane and had all the heads come down together and stay in the same hotel. I hear it was a blast. Yeah man you gotta toke up on the disc course. Where I live there is this one course that the front nine is pretty open but the back nine are all surrounded by trees. You just gotta watch out for other people, but if you see patchwork pants you know they are cool. |

| sorry dm, we didn't end up taking any pics. There's a thread about the union somewhere around here. glad to hear we've got some folks really enjoying some Hookah! Bear, like my bro said, if you enjoy those mp3's, wait until you hear something they've done recently, they're so much better now than they were when those were recorded. I just saw them last night (21st show!)an incredible show, I can't begin to describe how good they were. If you're interested in trading, PM me, I can maybe hook you up with a freebie or a b&p if I have the time. Keep an eye on www.ekoostik.com, rumor has it the next dates they're gonna anounce are gonna be out west, and they usually stop by colorado, for ski season at least. DM, next time I see some of the boys, I'll let them know they have a fan in brazil. BTW, something to remember for the future, there's a rumor going around the hookah scene about a 2002 Jamaica trip. In June of '99 (actually, that 6-19-99 show was recorded there) they took a trip to jamaica. It was a couple hundred dollars (it was before I was into them, so I have no idea how much) and you flew on a chartered plane down to negril, Jamaica, saw 3 days of hookah, and enjoyed the.....festivities. It's just a rumor about the 2002 one, but I'll keep everyone updated.

| Yes, yes indeed. Got them rockin' right now in fact! Love the mp3s - love 'em. I will be at a show as soon as my schedule arrives. Jamaca, oh sweet Jamaca. If that happens, I will do everything in my power to get there. That would be something to look forward to no question. If they are out here for the ski season, a weekend of cuttin' up the powder and some ekoostik would be pure bliss. (as an aside) Yes, smoking on the disk course should be manditory. I really miss playing, still got the disks around somewhere, but it doesn't really seem to be much of a sport out here, although I've gotten to 3 different courses. So, they are *better* now? That's quite something. I'll get in touch and send over some CDs - and keep a close eye on those tour dates. But, if you hear of anything, lemmi know! | |

| I would have to say, yes, they're better now. I'll have to hook you up with a tastey slipjig through the poppy fields. I've got a number of good shows I'm sure you'd love to have. In all seriousness, they get better almost everytime I see them, although they always play their best at Hookahville and at the newport in Columbus. They really get off on that homefield advantage. Whenever they're onstage at all I just get this really awesome feeling, I can't stop smiling, it's like the first time you get high when you have permagrin that just won't go away. It usually doesn't until I go to bed afterward |

| Just announced bro, Hookah's opening up for garaj mahal at the Bluebird Theater in Denver on November 3rd. They're the opening act, so they won't be playing quite up to their potential, but you'll get a taste of them. |

| I love Saturday shows! Man, you really know how to make a person's day! Thanks for the heads up - now I gotta look into 'garaj mahal' and see what they are about. I gotta think if you have EH opening for you, you've gotta lay down some sweet tunes. | |
