My friends and i smoked up a while ago and this dude parked his car next to us and there was playing a little show tune, it was a pretty happy song very dancible i would say

all i can remember from it is this:

"IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'mmmmm so sad and looooooonneeely"
then there was a part the dude would sing

"dibidibadudadibadu" or something like that

remember it was a show tune
does anyone know what song i'm talking about?

i keep singing "IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII'mmmmm so sad and looooooonneeely"
and its driving me crazy!!!
please help

) but i don't think that's a showtune at all dorito...i almost think it's a david lee roth song...ha ha!

No, no, no, my cholesterol-saturated amigo from down south, the song that you quote is most definately not a showtune.

The song that you refer to, my delicious tri-corner friend, is of course none other than "Just A Gigolo/Life Goes On Without Me" by the one and only David Lee Roth, the track coming from the former Van Halen frontman's seminal 1985 debut album, "Crazy from the Heat"

The music video is where this song really shines, however. Quite possibly the first video to use bikini-clad women looking down the shaft of a foot-long hotdog while mustard is applied to the top, the music video for this song revolutionized the not-so-subtle use of phallic imagery in hair-band rock videos. It is truly a gem of 80s music videos and deserves a closer analysis than has been given to it in the past.

but it pre-dates David Lee Roth by a whee bit of time. Cab Calloway I think back in the SpeakEasies of the 20's...

He also did a great song call Minnie the Moocher......oh...a moocher was an ol slang for a gal who took hits offa your doob for kisses....

...."lemme tell ya a story bout Minnie the Mocher...she was a low down Hootchie Kootcher"....

I'm downloading it right now, if i dont listen to that thing soon i think i'm going to die! Maybe i heard a diferent version. I just said it was a show tune coz it sounded like one, you know the song is kinda of happy if you dont think about the lyrics

I think Mamabudz should go on rock-n-roll jeopardy

The only way I knew the album and such is b/c I bought it as a gag gift for a friend about a month back. The cover of the CD is really funny...DLR's in waist deep water pointing at the name of the album, which is written in neon-scribble style. It's oh-so-80s.

Yes indeed it sounds like a showtune DoritosMan. Its kinda funny cause if you ever see the video it actually takes place like a showtune and if my memory serves me right we get to see Mr. Roth in a showtune get up, with the tight suit and the ridiculous hat
