| ok ya'll i haven't seen anything about the doors in here, and i think thats insane. when i first started tokin i listened to mainly country music. but country brought me down it seemed so one night after ridin around smokin all night with a friend. he droped me off at my truck and i said do you got anything cool i can listen to. (i've never listened to classic rock before that night) so he gives me this tape and says what ever you do man don't play it full blast cause you'll zone out dude. the tape was the best of the DOORS. so of course i turned it up really loud and on that way home Light My Fire came on and i knew then that the DOORS kicked @ss. i didn't take that tape out of the player for at least 6 months and became a doors freak. my favorite song on that tape is Not To Touch the Earth. i read books about Jim and the DOORS and they became part of my life. i'd hate to see what i'd be like if i hadn't listened to the DOORS. A few of my favorite songs are: GLORIA CELEBRATION OF THE LIZARD NOT TO TOUCH THE EARTH 5 TO 1 LIGHT MY FIRE RIDERS ON THE STORM STRANGE DAYS SOUL KITCHEN SPANISH CARAVAN PEACE FROG THE SOFT PARADE now i love every song that the doors made but these are just the ones i would listen to first by the way the whole American Prayer cd rocks!! Peace out THE PETRO |

| I just saw Peach Melba at Little Brother's in Columbus. They covered Peace Fog and the percussionist sang. He kind of looks like Jim Morrison. I have seen them do Alabama Song and Not to Touch the Earth(I think that was it I'm not really familiar with that tune) too. I heard at that at the Peach Tree gathering in Athens Melba played on Friday as the Unkown Soldier, a doors cover band. No one knew it was Melba till they came out (some may have figured it out, but didn;t know for sure). And it was all Doors tunes. I kind of wish I could have gone, cause that would have kicked ass! Melba kicks ass!

| The Doors are DEFINATELY one if not, the best band. I love the doors (as if you can't tell). It's too bad that Jim died, but I don't know what they would be like today if he never died.....but maybe he and Elvis are living together in some country, sipping on martini's on the beach..... I'm glad you like and found the doors.....also, isn't it scary how much Val Kilmer looks like Jim?.... -Rip (I love the Doors) ![]()

| LOVE LOVE LOVE the Doors! Morrison is awesome. Every time I watch the movie, I like him even more. The music's pretty cool too . "The Soft Parade" is my definite favorite though. That song is amazing.BTW, "The Soft Parade", a Doors tribute band featuring Ray Manzarek, is playing in the Boston-area soon, if they haven't already. A local music joint in Randolph is having classic rock concerts through the fall. Too bad they're ****ING 21+!!!! ![]()

| i LOVE the Doors man! "strange days" is their best record i think; but "l.a. woman" is so groovy it makes me wanna dance (but i cant). i dunno if Jim's really dead, at least i know his spirit is strong still. i watched the movie "The Doors" with val kilmer when i was reaallllly high and it rocked. haha the book "no one here gets out alive", a biography on the doors, has some hilarious stories about Jim; mostly when he was a kid and teen. man that guy did a lot of drugs; one of the best lyricists ever |

| I started listening to Classic Rock about 2 years ago. I have to say while there are some bands these days I enjoy a lot they have nothing on The Doors, Zeppelin, Eagles, Floyd, etc. Even though it is very mainstream my favorite song by them is still Riders on the Storm. The sad part as many have mentioned is how we lost Jim so young. Only at age 27 just imagine some of the things we could have heard once he got a little older and mellowed out. The same with Jimi Hendrix I couldn't imagine some of the things he would have written when he mellowed out. While The Doors is one of my favorite bands to listen to when I'm getting ripped they aren't my all time favorite. I still give that to Floyd. RIP Jim...

| I managed to see the Doors of the 21st century (the doors sans jim of course) last summer and that was the greatest show ever. The singer was Ian Astbury from the cult, and he looked/acted just like morrison. If anyone gets the chance, you must see them. |
