I'm curious.. Does anyone in here like bands like Emperor, Morbid Angel, Opeth.. yu know.. stuff like that.

yeah there was a thread similar to this a couple months back. Yeah there are some peeps in here that like that. I use to dig dark metal, but I got tired of it. Emperor was one of my friends fav. bands. Have you heard of berzhm? The thing I don't like about a lot of death is that the recordings suck and the songs sound all the same. I suggest Zao if you like an integrated mix of black, death, and hardcore.

If I remember correctly, that thread was about metal in general. Not death metal. Did you mean Burzum? If so, yes i like them.
The recordings suck and the songs sound all the same?? Sometimes that "sucky" sound adds to the overall magic of the album. And if you think all of it sounds the same, you are not listening to the right bands. Anyways, any metalheads, respond.

Yeah burzum. Anyway I guess I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to death metal. But really can you tell the difference between a deicide song and a cannibal corpse song? I can't.

MERCYFUL FATE! yeah! king diamond is dope.....i don't listen to him much, but some of my buddies do. i wouldn't listen to it on my own time, but i can definitely appreciate it.

Now I see that you are obviously not listening to the right bands. But, i agree that alot of death metal sounds the same, there are many copycat bands out there. But black metal is my fave. and there are sooo many good black metal bands out there. I forgot to add earlier, alot of black metal today, doesnt have that dirty recording sound. Try the new Emperor. Excellent production. Arch Enemy, Samael, Old Mans Child, Borknagar, etc. All of their albums have excellent production.

P.S. I dont like Deicide, just another copycat band. Well... I like some of there old stuff, but thats it.

yeah I've always liked emperor. Different sound for each installment. Same with that one band I can't remember the name..oh dark throne. They're sweet. Yeah deicide is weak. Yeah black metal is much better than death. I'm starting to like some black emotional metal. My friends band is starting one and they sound good. I don't really know of too many out there though.

I love death metal!!!! Deicides lyrics are realy stupid but I still really like them..and I saw someone say something about ZAO..They are from Parkersburg,Wv about 45 minutes away from here.Seen them play alot and im real good friends with the old bass player Kevin...I wouldnt associate them with death metal though they are really christian..if you pay attention to the lyrics on the first EP they scream bible scriptures..You guys should check out bands like: Amon Amarth,God Dethroned,Ancient,Dark Funeral,Everdawn,Lord Belial,Gates of Ishtar,Defleshed,Hecate Enthroned,Midvinter,Mithotyn,Six Feet Under..you know sh*t like that
