| This guy is by far the best guitarist i have ever heard. His second cd monsters and robots is crazy guitar based techno, all incredibly crazy and ultimately good to listen to. He has done work with primus and is a regular guest guitarist for them. He comes on stage with a kfc bucket on his head, and a jason mask on, everyone in the crowd goes who the hell is that and then a beautiful symphony leaps out from his guitar and grabs you by your ears. "He was born in a coup and raised in a cage, people feared him the critics raged, hes alive no hes half dead, the folks just call him buckethead." If your looking for something interesting to listen to i suggest downloading any of his songs, suggested listening includes The Ballad of Buckethead, Jump Man, Nun Chuka Lata, and Jowls. | Buckethead is definitely NOT for everyone. I have a couple of his collaboration albums and I think some of it is fantastic while some of it is complete ass. I used to love the columns he wrote for Guitar Player (I think that's the mag he wrote for) like reading Hunter Thompson with a guitarist tilt to it. I have the first Praxis album, the Bill Laswell collaboration with Bootsy Collins and Buckethead. It's called Transmutation Transmutadis. Interesting to say the least. The 7 Laws of Woo is an incredible song. I can't believe how fast he plays on that album. It's almost inhuman. I also have Death Cube K which is supposed to be a Laswell/Buckethead ambient album but it's pretty tough to listen to as a lot of the music is very out there. Buckethead is filling in with Guns N Roses these days. Pretty odd to see him in the butcher's outfit with the chicken bucket and the mask playing next to Axl. Something is very off about that. | |

| First off Buckethead is extremly talented. I can't count how many times i've tripped out listening to Buckethead land. He's not for every one though. My guitar teacher has met buckethead. His real name is Brian Carrol. My teacher told me that he is the wierdest person he's ever met. One day i'll meet him...in the mean time peace out.

| Hi, I'm new to this board. I'm actually usually on the marijuana.com boards, but saw this thread and had to post. If you all haven't heard Buckethead's Colma album, you haven't heard him yet. It's not the typical guitar-techno shred, but more of a really vibey, spacey album that features him on nylon guitar with samples, lo-fi drum loops and a spot of bass. really cool stuff. |

| id say the best buckethead album by far would have to be population override, great blues buckethead style. cuckoo clocks of hell is also really good if youre into heavy metal. buckethead was also really good in the band praxis, if you like buckethead and bootsy collins deffinently check this band out, id recommend their album "transmutation". i know this is a really old thread but i remember reading that whoever posted this first said that buckethead was the best guitarist or something along those lines. if you think buckethead is good check out bumblefoot or mattias eklundh. if you download anything by bumblefoot try "guitars suck" that shit is sick. and eklundh can make some crazy ass sounds on his guitar, dl anything off freak guitar. and if you like eklundh check out the band freak kitchen. |

| I love buckethead. His music is some of the best chill out with a spliff music His style reminds me a lot of Joe Satriani but Satriani is too egocentric and show-offy. Buckethead is Satriani without the ego. |
