| Music tends to move in cycles. Eventually people will get fed up with the pop bull**** and more respectable artists will be on the charts. I find it funny that some people think they aren't victims of pop music just because the bands they like play they're instruments. Sometimes I wonder what the next "thing" will be that is actually listenable.

| Well , my view on music is very different from yours, because a video's genre is not decided on whether or not it's aired on MTV. I see your points, though, and i think this is what will happen: ----------\------------------|--- R---|----------------------/-------------- ----------------\------------|--------|--------------/---------------------- ----CRAP--------\-----------|----A---|----------/----CRAP------------- ---------------------\-------|--------|-------/----------------------------- -----------------------\-----|---P----|------/----------------------------- -------------------------\\--|--------|---//------------------------------- -------------------------\\\\|--------|//// -------------------------------- This diagram shows my view on rap after reading your posts. As time goes by (starting at bottom and moving up), the artists that start blending with pop ( as you people say Jarule and Jayz and Puff Daddy etc.) will stop being associated with rap, and eventually become crap, or "pop" . Thus pop will never actually blend with rap, simply, some artists, formerly rappers, will not be part of the rap scene anymore, or so i hope. This took a while so it better make sense and stuff.

| I am a bit befuddled by the diagram, but I get your point. I think that it would be good at this point to give my definition of pop music: Pop music is simply that music which is popular. Generally, I see it as easy to listen to and terribly unimportant. But, I will give my oft-repeated mantra: If you like the sound, listen to it! | |
