| Trippin, By out here i mean they live out here where i am. Massachusetts grown man take a few notes. IMHO you sound like every other kid who would never admit to liking a band that got famous. Did staind sell out? Depends on what your idea of that is, staind is still playing the same music they always have been, difference is instead of them playing Pearl Street now they play on MTV, big fuggin deal, good for them im glad they got the chance to get the hell out of here and make something better of their lives. You dont even make good points in your responses so i dont know why im bothering to attempt a debate or argument with you. You obviously think any band that makes it sold out which goes to show what you know of music bro. At any rate so you dont like staind, good for you, you have posted this comment now lets move on cause im not going to sit here and debate a band from my home town with someone who is telling me they have been showing a real illusion that i have been overlooking. Maybe you should take some time to read around here before you post, around here we love music we dont loathe it and call the people who make the money sell outs. Cleric![]() |

| What TheCleric said. But I am going to disagree a bit. It takes a lot to convince me that a band has sold out and I think Staind gets a few points for that. I don't think getting famous is selling out. That is just rediculous TrippiN_Moogle. But I see a lot of bands like Staind that sell one type of music, then become famous. And then their second CD comes out ad it is a far cry from the first one to break through. They played mudshovel and crawl to get a large rock audience and then once they have that, they try a new approach to deciding what singles to put out. Three pop singles in a row. Nothing wrong with pop, but you can't sell yourself as hard rock and then change your music to attract more fans. Disclaimer: [My opinion is soley based off of the singles they have put out and not the CDs as I hav not heard the new one and can't compare it to the others.] | |

| I don't really like Staind, I just don't like their music. "It's been a while" was okay but got played out and that completly ruined it. The only song I like is "Fade" and I'm sure they will get played out too.

| i personally like staind alot. i loved their "popish" songs also, they just got radio killed like everything else. that is why i only listen to the radio at work, just to get an idea of whats out there. which is the point of the single really, is to get your music out there. and its not like they sat there and thought, oh the masses will love this one. the record companies and the producers are more responsible for that then the band. the record companies have to sell albums, that is why its called the music "business". like it or not, it is a business, and like it or not, for some people it is a way of life, a job, a little more then just a hobbie, like it is for some of us. for most of the crap coming out now a days it probably really is about making money and getting famous, but for bands like staind, its mostly about putting your music out there, its a release, but whats so wrong with getting a couple bucks out of it. its like an artist who decides to put his work in a gallery and put it up for sale. can they be considered sellouts? my definition of a sellout is someone that gives up their ideals and beliefs for money. staind has the same ideals, the same issues, the music is slightly less heavy, but its a little more mature, people grow up and thier musical tastes change with them. but if you just relax and listen to the music and the message its still friggin awesome. and entertainment is half the point of music. and my favorite staind song is "waste" off of break the cycle cuz its got the soft stuff plus this rage part. its a combo of both the things that they excell at. that and the lyrics rule. | |
