Yeah Crazy Diamond, dancing isnt really a MTV thing but back in the day when No Doubt was punk. Gwen just jumped up and down on stage and was just crazy and wild and i liked that. now shes trying to be and dance like Britney Spears because thats popular now. a long time ago i read a interview that No Doubt did and they said they always wanted to be and sound like no other band. thats bullsh*t. I say if Gwen's going for the gay hip hop sound, she should drop the other guys in the band and just do a Britney/Madonna kinda thing by herself. cause their already a destroyed band because of their new sound and the guys suck. in my opinion anyway

I watch mtv everyday almost... I see no problum with it.

Its easy some people are trying so hard to be different in their musical taste that they revolt against the mainstream thinking it will supply them with a fresh new perspective in music. Little do they realise that the most common sides are black and white, and going from white to black (not like michael jackson) doesnt make you any more of a rebel than choosing to smoke marijuana.

Personally i dont like mtv, but its not because ohh everyone sells out on mtv or ohh they cater to whats popular, but because i find its programming to be boring, rehashed old tv show ideas dont grab me, neither does how someone makes a music video, or when britney kisses justin. And it rarely shows music im into ( although the other night they played Bjorks- its oh so quiet and i was pleased)

No getting on to the subject, no doubt. I used to like no doubt like many of you, i still think gwen stefani is hot, and she can perform a choreographed dance in front of me anyday. However i have to thoroughly agree with you guys and say that they have dove into the we suck pool. Is it mtv? Is it Gwens yearning to be Britney?

Hardly, no doubt made themselves famous because of the lyrics and content in their first songs. At this time Gwen had just been dumped and was a very pissed girl (dont speak, im just a girl, excuse me mister) and it shown through in her songs. Well now shes got Gavin Rossdale (im pretty sure they are still together) and doesnt have **** to write about anymore, she has money, a rockstar boyfriend and happiness.

So naturally No Doubt has to go for a new style to keep people interested. Cant say i dont blame them, at least they are trying one last shot at some bread money.

But Gwen doesn't write the songs, or on the last few albums she only wrote a few songs. I think all of No Doubt is going for the gay hip hop sound, not just Gwen. And just because you start dancing in a group doesn't mean you're trying to be Britney. Honestly I think if No Doubt wanted to be more popular they'd stay away from this gay hip hop/regea sound. I think their new sound is still very unique...nothing like Britney, Madonna, or any other MTV group. I don't think No Doubt were ever punk...they were more of a ska with a little metal mixed in kinda pop group.

Lol, i just heard somthing on mtv just now and its too pointless to make a thread of its own so ill post it hear... just because i think some of you will get a kick out of it.

Alright so im fliping though the channels and stop on mtv and see britney spears promoting some new movies she is in, and shes discribing how her charater in the movie is with a phrase somthing like this "The charater in the movie is just so strong ( mentally) its amazing" she then adds "Its just somthing completly new too me"... i then proceded too laugh very hard. lol

But also to stay on topic,

ALot of bands' sounds change over a course of time, which makes sence because of the fact that most of the time artist write songs about things that enfluence them... if those things change do too certain thing that happen then its possible that their sound will change as well.
