Pink Floyd - Echoes "The Best of Pink Floyd"

is there anything of pink floyds that can be considered bad music? i didn't think so.

i haven't actually heard that album you mentioned but i am definately going to. what i really want is a pink floyd box set.

I'm afraind so. Have you listened to the "Division Bell"? Its probably their worst work.

Besides "Echos..." is just a compilation of their older stuff, right?

ya its old stuff but its a good 2 cd compalation

Not entirely old stuff, they have some songs from Division Bell and the Final Cut but most of it is from Dark Side of the Moon/Wall era. There are also a couple songs from Pipers at the Gates of Dawn (their first album).

Yes, there is some bad Pink Floyd, Ummagumma is horrible (IMO).

Yeah, both Ummagumma and the Division Bell are pretty bad. But it's post-Waters, and nothing of consequence has been produced from the band after he left. Echoes may be good for an intro to Floyd, but there is simply nothing like sitting back and listening to Wish You Were Here, Dark Side of the Moon, Animals, or The Wall in their entirety.

the Ummagumma live album is trandscendent though. And there's a few tastey moments on the studio tracks.

I agree, Careful with that axe Eugene was good but other than that I was dissapointed with the album. The only other bad one I can think of was Atom Heart Mother, again had a good song, Set the Controls for the Heart of the Sun, but other than that crap

The final cut is the worst floyd i've heard. Piper being the best floyd hands down. Ummagumma does have some good stuff and animals was real good too. meddle too, listen to meddle if you really wanna chill
