| Music can definetly change conciousness. I know that after I've been dancing at a show for 2 or 3 hours, I feel like i am more aware of my surroundings. And this happens whether I've been smoking or not. In fact, after a show I find it difficult for me to get high. That might have more to do with the meditative aspects of dancing, but without good music there would be no good dancing. I think it has to do with improvisational aspects of the music I listen to. When the audience dances they become as much a part of the music as the people on stage. Hey Tokey, I know just what you're talking about. I felt something similar that I wrote about in athread called the power of improvisational music. It does feel similar to an orgasm, I even had to check my pants afterwards (they were clean). But somehow it doesn't feel flesh based, if you understand what I'm saying. It feels like the music starts playing you, you are not playing it. A good bands goal should be to reach the point where the members become one on stage. They are not working independently to craete one sound, but the one sound comes through all of them. And music has made me smile bigger than any drug ever has. ![]()

| Come to think of it, there's a Dangerman song called Listen to the Music and in it they talk about music having drug-like properties... They put that song in Dude, Where's My Car? at the beginning where Jessie was having the trippy dream flying around in that colorful galaxy. The fact that they would put the song in at this part connects music to drugs... although I can't remember what I was gonna type to conclude. Sorry. |
