| One of the best thing about song lyrics, and poetry for that matter, is that meaning becomes subjective. The meaning the writer intended is not necesarilly the same conclusion you will reach, and there is nothing wrong with that. In fact, some lyricists make it a point to write specifically in that way. In that sense, the listener/reader becomes part of the creation process.

| I listened to the Matrix soundtrack stoned... you know the song they played in the movie, in that scene in the lobby of the federal building where Neo and Trinity killed everyone? Spybreak by Propellerheads? NEway, I always heard him whispering something quietly in the background of that song, but was never able to figure out what he was saying no matter how many times I listened to it. When I listened to it stoned though, I was able to tune in on those whispers and somehow my brain amplified them and I could hear what the guy was saying... he's talking about oral sex in graphic terms. Anyone had a similar experience? [edit]I'm listening to it right now sober... and I can hear him, but not what he's saying. It's so weird! That song must be made for stoners![/edit] |

| yes, i totally understand what you are trying to get across. when i listen to music stoned, (which I always do) if someone else is around and we're listening together, I'll like start interpreting what the lyrics mean, and I don't mean some sh*t conversation, we delve ourselves into it. We try to get right to the heart of what the writer was thinking when he wrote it. I love songs that paint mental pictures in your head...Tool is blows me away for their ability to do that...especially when stoned. Peace ![]()
