If anyone is familiar with the beat from the Q-Tip song "let's ride", I could use some help. I'm looking for music with the same type of beat. Anyone have any good recommendations?

A tribe is kickin...... love them.....too bad they broke up and Q-Tip and Busta are chumps now...ah, its what happens all to often.

ive been looking for the "lets ride" since i heard it in a freestyle....cant seem to find it though....

not sure exactly what you looking for but here's the tracks that were sampled for 'let's ride'

esg - ufo (this is a great track anyway)
the vibrettes - the humpty dump (drums)
joe pass - giant steps

the vibrettes sample that was used for the drums has also been used for these tracks

digital underground - the humpty dance (uk remix)
quinton - i'm not an mc

they had a spotlight on tribe yesterday on rapcity, they played all their good videos. i saw the video for scenario for the first time, and damn, busta rhymes actually looked normal at one point!

I would definitely suggest Mos Def and Talib Kweli. If you have WinMX or Morpheus search for mos def or talib kweli or blackstar
Also there is a good song by Mos, Pharoahe Monch, and Nate Dogg called "Oh No" If you want a start look for Mos and Talib doing "Astronomy" or "Definition" or "Redefinition"

The best part about Mos and Talib is that they don't rap about the same crap that other raps do. You don't hear the word "Ice" or "20 inches" in the song. They don't rap about cars, hoes, and bulls***.

"Let's ride" is a pretty phat song. I'd also recommend checking out some of tribe's earlier stuff(Low end Theory is their best album). The Roots, Common, or De La Soul also have a similiar style(they're not into "material" hip-hop like just about most of the crap that's "popular" now)
