Default The REAL jungle genre.

I was greatly dissappointed when I downloaded a song classified as "jungle" music. I didn't know it was some mix of rap and techno at the time. When i think of jungle music, i think of more indiginous type stuff: Lots of drumming, a few other instruments, and no synthesized crap. Does anyone know any good songs or groups that have more of the style i'm looking for? I'm a drum fanatic and have been scouring the internet for such music.

hehe yes, the genre Jungle is associated with techno and rap/hip-hop. The genre of music you are looking for would be 'world music' Maybe something Latin/South American or African would sound cool.

some reccomendations for drumming music

sepultura roots-a clash of 2 musical worlds and the way they meld togother is unbelievable

brazzilian drmming clashes with metal hardcore
amazing record

airto moreira-anything he is an amazing brazzilian drummer

mickey hart-dead drummer and all around percussion faatic check out thre cd PLANET drum -

soulfly-s/t-hardcore meets afro brazzilian drminng styles amazing record invokes lots of jungle thoughts and the music is not like any other

nacao zumbi/chcio science-a blend of hip hop, funk, reggae, brazzilian folk, and psych rock

with up to 5 drummers at a time this is amazing music with some sonic quality

carlinhos brown-oludum

i believe there like 14-20 people drumming(in the same rythm)
mixing street drumming(ie fast jazz based drumming on buckets)
with brazzilian drumming and classical jazz-an amazing record that will make anyone get the groove to hit out a pattern

cymande-anything there are 3 -4 percussionists at times
and the music is really amazing
pretty much the first ragga funk ever

well those are some personal favs

Talking Finaly somebody asked about Brazillian music! woo hoo

agiakaraDub got good taste man!

Sepultura is a very heavy hardcore band, but their percussion is the best i would highly recommend downloading "hatamahatta" that is my favorite song from them, its got some killer drums right on the begining

Soulfly is Sepultura's lead singer, Max Cavalera, new band after he quit sepultura, its pretty good but not better

Chico Science e Nação Zumbi, This dude Chico started this whole new genre here in brazil is called Mangue Beat (mangue is a type salt water swamps, where people go get crabs and other crustatians, download the video "Maracatu Atômico" and you will see). I own like 2 cds from this band, download anything from them and you will like it, another great mangue beat band is Cordel do Fogo Encantado check'em out

Carlinhos Brown is alright, hes band got some very freaky drumming action, but the lyrics and the music sucks!good thing you probrably dont understand portuguese then

Olodum is just a percution group, no singer just 100 drums of all sizes, they made a video with Micheal Jackson a couple years ago the song is "They dont care about us" or somthing like that...

i can try to find some more band for ya, but i go to go now

10-4
