Default The Grateful Dead, a b&p offer

Alright we all know the Dead rule. They do and noone can deny it (well they can but it doesnt mean their denial is right) So in honor of this i'm offering a b&p of 4-16-78 Dead. It's an amazing show so if you want a copy this is for you. Unorthodox to offer a b&p on m.com? oh yeah, but i love spreading good tunes. harokorn13@aol.com

I'll allow b&p's, they're good karma for everyone involved. But let's try to keep all future b&p offers to this one thread.

First I should explain what a b&p offer is. If you're interested in the offered show, you send him an email, be gracious and kind, asking if you got in. If you did, he'll send you his address. You mail him the appropriate number of blank discs with return postage. He'll burn the show and mail'em back. For a better and more detailed explanation, look here: http://www.mcnichol.com/bnp/

I'd inquire about the offer but, well, check your private messages chinarider.

Thanks for allowing it, i'm not trying to cause chaos just share music. Although I think this could be cool to have a b&p thread. Like every week or two someone could offer one up, a lot of people could hear stuff they might not ever hear otherwise. Anyway peace,
Denver

It's legal. The Greatful Dead and their record labels have always supported the open taping and non-commercial distribution of their music.

Its cool as long as you don't sell it. Thats the policy the Dead and a lot of other bands have. At any Dead show, or Phil & Friends, Ratdog, SCI, ekoostik Hookah etc., you can see more than few mics in the air. Tapers are a welcome part of the community because they spread the music and save it for posterity. Its great to listen to a show that you were at. You can compare what they were really doing to what it is you heard.

The thing about the Dead is that live is there thing. On record a song could be 4-5 minutes long but live it could be 20. And with all the different sounds that they create, chossing a few songs as good introductions wouldn't quite cut it. I can point you to some cds you could buy (or probably download). Skeletons from the Closet, its sort of a best of released in 74 before they had any hits, but of those tunes were live staples for years. Europe '72 is an excellent live album to get, as is Live/Dead.

I'm sure a few more people will add to my thoughts, but i also want to say that you've probably heard Truckin' on the radio. thats a good tune but its not really what the Dead were. Unless you hear a live show you cannot get it. The Dead is not Touch of Grey, the Dead is a mind melting 40 minute Dark Star>The Other One. And Pigpen's drunken Turn On Your Lovelight raps. And me and My Uncle.

So to sum up, screw a song, download a live show. I'm sure you could find 5/8/77 easily as it has arguably the best Scarlett Begonias>Fire On the Mountain.

In honor of me receiving 5/8/77 in the mail today, I am offering a B&P for that amazing show. It's amazing quality and the dead play really good. Some believe the show never took place. They believe the Dead recorded it in the studio and added audience noise.

Either way, its really good. I'll take the first 3 people who respond. It takes 3 discs for the whole show.

Click here if you want to know everything about a B&P.

Alright.... 2 people have inquired so far... that means there's still one left!

First one to PM me or post here gets it!

You better hurry!!!!

P.S. If you do get left out of this one, don't fret, I will offer one everytime I get a new show that I deem worthy of a B&P. Which could be pretty frequent.
