| Probably one of the biggest reasons why I don't like techno is because its the rave kids that come to festivals and bring the dirty drugs. And they don't care about the community. They go and fill their heads full of all kinds of stuff and and just cause problems. And most times they don't even like the music, they just come for the party, but most of all the drugs. I realize I am generalizing and would like to make it clear that not all the ravers at festivals are like that. Some of them are kind people, but not many that i see. I just might be biased since its the ones that cause problems that I notice. And there are hippies that aren't that kind as well, we call them tour rats. I like what the organizers of the Spring Fling festival said on their website. Leave your ghetto attitudes, your ghetto friends, and your ghetto blasters, at home.

| A couple of years ago I hated techno but now I love it. When I listen to it I can always find a beat to dance to. And I can never sit still to begin with. I think I know what you mean by "hand art". My boyfriend always does these movements with his hands when he dances (or sometimes just out of the blue because hes like that!) and it looks so cool. He just lets it all flow. But yeah back to the point, techno is goooooood!! |

| I love hand art! Your right hun i am a weirdo hehe. If you get really good at it it can look amazing. I do it at work all the time, it really scares people ![]() But schwa i totally hear ya man and thats a sad reality about all musics. I have no doubts that those people exist in EVERY scene, be it the kids who go to festivals just to do the drugs or sell them, the 40 year old guys who go to metal shows just to get drunk and hit kids smaller then them, or the kids that get all iced up and start fights at the clubs just to act "gangsta". Every scene has its people that screw it up, it just so happens that because of the media coverage and all the negative open publicity on it the rave scene has a very bad image. Alls i can say is i have been to raves and despite common belief not everyone there is on unmentionables, there happens to be a decent crowd who are against that, like me ![]() But sadly people get stupid, out of control, and end up dieing/hurting others. So naturally saying im going to a rave makes people assume your a drug addict. Its sad cause its really a beautiful place to go to, and so many people wont give it a chance because of the negative image. Ahh well to each their own, alls im saying is dont knock something completly until you try it. 2 years ago if you asked me to go to a rave i would probably tell you off, and say half of the stuff that "everyone knows" as truth. And besides, trance music and dank bud are like umbillical cord and fetus! They compliment each other so well! ![]() Cleric![]() |

| I'm not sure the differentiation between techno/drum n bass/trance/electronica/whatever i just consider it all the same. I've heard a lot of different groups and dj's and 99% of them are horrible. They all sound so similar. They're crappy beats with stupid sound effects imo. Not ripping on them but i don't respect most of their music, i don't think it takes that much talent personally. But then there are people i love to listen to. DJ Logic, DJ Cut Chemist, and a few others I think are creative and very good at what they do. |

| I agree w/mindraver - trance over techno. Chicane, BT, Rob Miles, Paul Van Dyk are all great... |

| I am going to argue with all of you. Techno sucks, and Trance even more. If you want real music don't be a little candy raver, listen to Dark Jungle, speed garage, Hard house, drumb and base. Something you can dance to, and not look like a fag at the same time. And for whoever said that people at raves are not drug addicts...please if you have ever been to one or are in the rave scene you would know for sure that everyone there or at least 90% of the people are messed. Just my opinion. ![]() | |
