| So I'm sitting here smoking a bowl and listening to The Who's Greatest Hits and it prompted these thoughts: 1) British bands of the '60s often used the term "mac" in their songs. It's in The Who's "Substitute" and The Beatles' "Penny Lane" (and I wanna saw another song by them...or maybe it was wings...I just remembber hearing it at the Paul McCartney concert I just went to which was awesome). I, being American and about 20 years younger than the music, do not understand this, but I gather it's like a raincoat or a hat orsomething. Anyone know for sure? 2) I think The Who's "Boris the Spider" might've been written by John Entwistle, the bass player, rather than Townshend who wrote most of them. The riff totally sounds like it was written by a bassist, with the low, descending one note thing. And it doesn't sound quite like Daltry. So there. LAter yo.

| I used to know what a mac is. I think you might be right though about the raincoat idea since I'm pretty sure a mackinaw is a type of coat. Or maybe it is a hat. Yes Boris the Spider was written by Entwistle. I think Roger sings the verses but John, or maybe even Keith, sings the title.
