And being "about weed" makes up for a possible lack of musical talent? (not a dig on the strokes, I've heard about 10 seconds of maybe one of their tunes once, so my opinion is a non-opinion.

There have been so many threads on the strokes, and everytime i say the same thing. They have no original style, they just ripped off the velvet underground and any lou reed song.

a heard a local radio DJ call them a bunch of rich yuppie kids from upstate new york on more than one occassion. though the station does play their tunes, i think they sound okay, but nothing out of the ordinary (not one of my favorite bands nor would i buy an album of theirs).
