opethian

three months ago my life (musically speaking) was totally changed. i started listening to metal a few years ago pretty faithfully and was enjoying the sounds of bands like mudvayne,
tool, and sytem of a down with contentment. then something
happened. a friend recommended that i get the cd blackwater
park by Opeth. i was immediately overwhelmed by this band.
it is classified as melodic death metal, but i don't like saying
that about them......have trouble using the word death when
referring to them. they are amazing. they can go from acoustic sounds with oh so sweet singing to all out metal guitar with
the greatest of ease. their lyrics are awesome. i now have several opeth cd's and will someday have them all, damn i can't believe they have been around since 93 and i am JUST NOW
hearing them.......i cannot pry them out of my cd player. if one
person checks this band out from this thread i will have done
