| I think this belongs here since it's about stories... Does everyone remember the first time they heard Dark Side of the Moon? Share your experiences. I was at my friend's place, and we were smoking up. I had been a stoner for about 3 months, and he had started like the week before. He was watching this Tragically Hip concert video and then he was like "Hey man, have you ever heard Dark Side of the Moon" and I was like "Nope, I haven't". I knew like two Floyd songs at that point, and I liked them. So he gave me his discman and a pair of headphones and said "Here, turn this up, close your eyes, and listen." It was possibly one of the greatest experiences in my life. I went through many emotions... sometimes I wish I had never heard that album just so I could hear it again for the first time. God it's amazing. So yeah, anyone have any good stories about the first time they heard possibly the greatest album ever recorded?

| The first time I heard DSOTM I was straight I think - roughly 7yrs ago. I remember thinking "WOW" admittedly (I think it was my first exposure to Floyd too) but now I'm not overly keen on the album as a whole, there's patches of it that just don't do it for me... maybe a case of 'familiarity breeds contempt'... I dunno but I prefer to listen to Meddle, which could be classified as the non-commercial DSOTM... and its better in my opinion • l i s t e n t o m e d d l e s t o n e d • |

| I don't remember the first time i heard it. I was really young anyways. You should listen to Feels like the First time by Foriegner. It's a cool tune and it kinda matches what you said.

It was inevitable that they should make that claim sooner or later: the logic of their position demanded it. Not merely the validity of experience, but the very existence of external reality, was tacitly denied by their philosophy. The heresy of heresies was common sense. And what was terrifying was not that they would kill you for thinking otherwise, but that they might be right. For, after all, how do we know that two and two make four? Or that the force of gravity works? Or that the past is unchangeable? If both the past and the external world exist only in the mind, and if the mind itself is controllable what then?" |

| omg, i love tragically hip and i hardly here anyone mention them, so i like you right off the flip especially since you made a post about one of my all time fav cd's. dark side of the moon is without a doubt the best stoner cd and the best sex cd of all time. kinda weird cause my sis borrowed it from me like three months ago and i just got it back from her TONIGHT, so that was hella ironic. i had my hands in the river, my feet back up on the banks, looked up to the lord above and said "hey, man thanks", sometimes i feel so good i gotta scream, she said "gordy baby i know exactly what you mean!" | |

| My pop brought me up on classic rock like Zeppelin, Floyd and the Doors, so I don't remember my first time hearing DSOTM. I've been listening to it my whole life. Feels Like The First Time is one of my new favorite tunes. For the longest time I hated Foreigner but they ain't bad.
