LAS VEGAS, June 27 — John Entwistle, the bass player for veteran British rock band The Who, was found dead of an apparent heart attack in his Las Vegas hotel room on Thursday, just one day before the group was set to begin a North American tour in the city, the Clark County Coroner said. Entwistle, a bearded, taciturn type affectionately known as “Ox,” died at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, said coroner Ron Flud.

this is very sad. Entwistle was the best rock bass player from his generation, in my opinion. john paul jones was the only one who came close. put on the real me off of quadrophenia and toke a bowl.

This guy is in no relation to the John Entwistle who was arrested with Dennis Peron in Utah, right?
If I find out that I've smoked with the bass player from the Who, I am going to bust up laughing... well, no probably not if he's dead now, but you know...

I think you'd know john entwhistle if you were talking to him...old english guy. 'Tis a very sad day indeed. I never would've thought he'd be the next one of the who to kick off. Actually, I thought everyone was in pretty good health still.

Better than the real me, find a nice version of Heaven and Hell (like off of the reissue of Live at Leeds) to listen to. I never really cared for the tune much before, but it has a new meaning now.

Now when I see them later this summer, it will have a whole new meaning rather than just seeing The Who.
