i dunno, bcbuds42069...that is a pretty heavily covered song. i've heard dave matthews band and pearl jam both do it. there might be no way to know for sure. i did see that concert with the three remaining guys--the one you were talking about. i TOTALLY agree that jim is missed.

Beeniman, I asked a buddy of mine who knows more about Reggae than me about Smoke Two Joints, and he said its actually an old song. Its been done by a lot of old school reggae groups and a bunch of ska groups, sublime was just another version.

Default Starting a contoversey (giggle giggle giggle)

LoL, I really like the Sublime cover of 'Smoke 2 Joints' and I remember hearing thesong waaaaaaaaaaay back in the late '70's (or is that early '80s, definetly before '83, but could be as old as '77, life is but a dream, sha-boom). So can all those "experts" on music explain how there's NO WAY Bob Marley HIMSELF could have ever sung the song in any form WHAT SO EVER! LoL(I'm high)

Anywho, it's amazing how many people "answer" questions, without having any idea at the answer it self. Yes LouReed, you are an idiot. I laugh at you and can't wait for your useless reply. Am I harsh? Who cares! Everyone that reads KNOWS you are a fool, the kind of a fool that makes all us other fools disgusted with you. It's because of people like you and B.C. that Marijuana is still illegal in many parts of our beloved planet. I mock you with the full force of a gale (MOCK! MOCK!).
You with your NON Facts and useless opinions are almost as bad as Bill Clinton (AKA B.C.) not inhaling(LoL). I'm still amazed by that pathetic statement. If you were hanging with someone that was smoking and not inhaling wouldn't you say something like "Hey buddy, I think you may be doing that wrong" and if they said they didn't want to inhale, wouldn't you then say "Well then please don't waiste my weed." LoL

He was around in he '60's and the best hope of an administration to legalise since Jimmy Carter (southern gentleman, big teeth, dealt with Iran poorly) and he totally screwed the pooch for all of us.

So in conclusion

Yes the Doors version of the song is AWESOME, but life goes on, and covering songs is what is considered art again (Heck, Elvis did it) and I like the Pearl Jam version and hope to someday hear the DMB version weither you like it or not.

GOD BLESS AMERICA, CANADA, The NETHERLANDs, SPAIN, The UNITED KINGDOM, PORTUGAL, MOROCCO, CANNABIS, & everplace where weed is legal orsoon going to be

but not in that order
I'm High

Default Okay, I'm still waited, but wrong is wrong

I wrote the above reply while totally waisted and wrote it to amuse myself. Then came the time I just HAD to order chinese food (HAD TO) and I toggled "submit Reply" instead of exit http://www.marijuana.com ;the world's best internet site. If I offended anyone I'm truly sorry. This is meant to be a free forum where views and opions are discussed with maturity and respect. I can admit that I crossed those boundries and am sorriful. Freedom of speech is not just an American privlidege, but the goal of all forward thinking peoples. Civilization itself has been formed on the concept of free speech. The neaderthal died out because they couldn't communicate to the degree that we cromagons have. I can relay thoughts, emotions, enginerring discoveries, or a great recipe for chinese pizza to person I have no face time wtih, to persons living in a country I can only hope to vist some day. Every neanderthal had to invent the knife each time he need it. We can travel to the mall and purchase one from and expert, or buy one on the internet, with out a second thought. We as a people are better for this time we spend sharing our views and hopefully shall work together to legalise cannabis throughout the globe.
I did not remove the above reply, because I'm still waisted and find it quite amusing.
So in conclusion, let us all strive to make the world a better place. Let us protest ant wrongs we see, and not hold our tounges as wrongs are done. Let us not permit another Nazi party to form. Let us not discrimnate against others for religious, national, nor race issues. Let us learn to love our fellow man, even if he's as stupid as the moron calling himself LouReedNY. Let him feel triuphant in his minor accomplishments, and let's all cheer him on (LouReedNY you da man!).
May whatever you hold holy share it's light woth the world, and may freedom ring from ever mountain top.

Weehappy, If you had any idea of what happened at the time of the Clinton "I didnt inhale" fiasco. It was a joke, it was his way of admitting it. And everyone knows that. Ignorant comments, made by people who have no idea what they are talking about, is what keeps marijuana illegal. In no way is it me, making a mistake about who originally sang smoke two joints. I am sure i know more about music than you, i am sure i have been listening to music for longer than you. I obvisouly know more about the sad state of our national affairs than yoe. (Funny that you are still stuck on Clinton making a joke, But its ok that Bush was a coekhead).

LouReedNYC Birthday January 3rd, 1984

I was out of High School by then, and I'm fairly certain that I was listening to music in and before High School

EVERYONE JOIN IN "and the wheels on the bus go round and round" WHAT! "Round and round" WHAAAT! "Round and..." Rock on.

You sure think alot of yourself. Sure I may have missed alot of Pop culture in my international travels. For most of the Clinton administration I was deployed to crap holes as an Army grunt, but I know for sure HE was serious. Yes MORON, Clinton was serious when he said "He didn't inhale" and as he enters his elder statesman period of his life I want to make sure NO ONE FORGETS WHAT A TOOL (a very cool band, but phalic in this refrence) he is.

And YES LouReedNYC Birthday January 3rd, 1984 people like you are the downfall of civilization and are the MAIN reason that Cannabis is still illegal.

Music is a wonderful (I speak as a muscian, something I've been since BEFORE you were born, and degreed historian in the subject) and even more enjoyable on our favortie Herb.
It's people that can't control thenselves that are always the problem. Have a drink once and a while cool. Have monster beer bashes and the cops show up, and public minded citizens feel it's their right and place to ad restrictions in this supposed "Land of the free". The same is true for any substance anyone can enjoy, and you "LouReedNYC Birthday January 3rd, 1984" are spoiling it for educated and just plain happy people with your Non Opinions.

I don't care if you like the DMB. No One asked if you like the DMB. You felt compelled to inform everyone that you "PERSONALLY" don't appreciate the DMB. The issoe was weither DMB sang a song or not. You didn't know, but felt free to give us your opinion on many points NON related to the topic.

When someone askes what books you are reading, you are not supposed to list everybook you've ever read. You disgust true learned persons with your attempt at illuminati-esque flights of fantsy.

I have a degree in Music, and yet you claim to know more then I. Please inform me how someone 20 years my junior and undegreed could possibly be more informed on a subject I spent much of my daily life trying to keep up with. I'm not all knowing, there are areas where I am completely ignorant. One of which would be "How can an JERK like 'LouReedNYC Birthday January 3rd, 1984' can have such a large ego, that he believes we all must here his opinion on UNrelated topics? There are areas of music I'm sure you are more intimate then I, but I would ever presume to inform anyone that I was an authority on any subject.

Sorry, gotta run and TEACH A CLASS on the history of blues guitar (MUS 304: From Robert Johnson to Jimmy Page) .

Considering that I am a student at Berkley Music School, one of the most renowned music schools in our country, I think that I have an informed, and well educated opinion on music. Quoting Jimmy Page shows nothing about your knowledge of music. Telling me you were in the army tells me nothing about your knowledge of music, or makes me respect you anymore, which you were obviously attempting to do.
If you think that the people of my generation are all about just smoking for the sake of smoking you are mistaken. In fact, I agree with you, marijuana is the best tool for greater appreciation of music, and there is nothing I would rather do after smoking than listen to music. And no I am not a fan of my generations pop culture. Our pop music is what is slowly destroyin music, and that is something I am sure both of us can agree on. Yes I am younger than you, and I have not completed my educational experience, however, there is no reason for you to attempt to elevate yourself by calling me a Jerk. In fact, that is very sad that an "adult" needs to rely on childish remarks to try and make a 19 year old feel sad. You are a sad adult, and it is the stuborn behavior of people like you, that is keeping marijuana illegal. It is people who obviously cannot control themselves while high, I have only seen first time smokers say the idiotic things I see in your post. It is people who do dumb things when they are high, that keep it illegal.
