I dont know anybody else around me who likes Coldplay..well I know one of my friends (non-smoker) likes coldplay as well but everyone else Ive tlaked to doesnt really like them..
I thought they were pretty good when Parachutes was out but I only listened to the songs I heard on the radio..then I heard Clocks a month ago and came home and donwloaded it. I also downloaded alot more of their songs and have yet to find one I don't like. I plan on getting A rush of blood to the head soon.
I really like their sound, I cant think of anyone else to compare it to. my gf thinsk they are boring..but my friend who likes them and I agree that they sound kinda dreamy..one of my favourite bands now, its too bad I didnt listen to them more when Parachutes was first released.

Ya, I really like them.

I wouldn't say they're my favourite band, but they certainly make it into a lot of my playlists.

I'd have to say my favourite songs from them are:

Yellow
Clocks
The Scientist
Warning Sign

I guess that's mostly their new stuff

Normally i really enjoy bands that have a similar style to coldplay, but that freaking song in my place just annoys me to no end...

they aint no radiohead, but coldplay definitely has a magical sound. I was fortunate enough to see them perform here in Miami at UM about a week ago. I notice most bands, even tho good, suck live. But Coldplay was awesome live. Possibly better in my opinion. I was damn good messed up and dancing like a crazy woman to every song. The lead singer did an awesome job on the piano and his voice is awesome. they just have a unique sound i guess. i owned both cd's and they're both good, i unfortunately cracked the new one tho. oops.
advice to any coldplay likers: (maybe even better stoned): DOWNLOAD the song "Dont Panic" (even to those who dont like coldplay... the song is awesome if ya dig the "magical sound") LISTEN TO IT LOUD. Close your eyes.. IT's amazing. it's def my favorite coldplay song. it's repetative, but its "BEAUTIFUL". LIsten to it loud, and get back to me..seriously.

Coldplay is a softer, and less original version of Radiohead. Radiohead is an awesome band. Coldplay is pretty good.

Didn't really dig Parachutes too much after buying it off the back of "Yellow" (and I promptly got rid of it having concluded that every song was completely derivative of this one good tune). However, A Rush Of Blood To The Head is much better imho. Faves: "Politik", "Clocks" and "Warning Sign"
