Default 2 Skinnee J's

anyone else here listen to 2 Skinnee J's? for anyone who doesn't know who they are, they are a rap/rock group, i guess is the best way to describe them, but they are more hip-hop than rock. download: Loud Neighbors, BBQ Song, Riot Nrrd, (718), and 3 Minutes if you want to, they are pretty tight songs.

These guys are amazing. Even though they rock and rap, I wouldn't put them in the rock/rap band category. They're too original to be put in this genre. I love how they use pop culture as a basis for many rhymes ( many Star Wars references, 80's movies etc, etc ). Sad to say, they are breaking up and going their separate ways this summer. I use to watch these guys live all the time at Va Tech when I was in college. AMAZING live band. Their early stuff is hard to find now a days. Most will only be introduced to them through their three major label cds: Super Mercado, Volumizer and Sexy Karate. I suggest picking them up in this order. Nothing will ever touch their earlier work ( though Super Mercado has many "reworked" older songs from their eps ). I am sad that I missed the last time they played in Blacksburg last weekend.

The J's are the best. I heard about them a few years ago through the 311 Unity email list and holy **** they're awesome. I saw them last year at tremont in Charlotte, NC and i'm seeing them again in a few weeks. It sucks that they're throwing in the towel after this tour, but i guess they need to get on with life too. I'm hoping that 311 will pick them up for their summer/fall tour so it doesn't have to end.
