You wanna go in some different directions?

Check out Ali Farka Toure.. a guitar player from Mali. "The Source" is a nice, nice album.

Check out Leo Kottke 6 and 12 string guitar (the armadillo album.) Yummm!

There's a lot of good stuff on the Putumayo record label that will rock your world too. Lots and lots of good music on our good, green earth.

Snot, Mudvayne,

Flaw is an amazing mix of good vocal singing and hard metal... not many people know of em either.

Grateful dead, dark tranquility, blind melon, johnny cash, and that's all i have on the top of my head.
I just picked up Cash's new album, The Man Comes Around, and I am at a loss for words. A breathtaking meditation on mortality by an artist with the life experience to back up his lyrics (or, at least, present someone else's with a great deal more relevance..... *eyeing trent reznor contemptuously*....) Also goes to show that real country doesn't need make-up, laser light shows, pyro-technics, or leopard print mini-skirts to be effective (ugh); the lone cowboy and his guitar are more than enough

And definetly be sure to check out the Electric Light Orchestra. They did some good ones like "Fire on high" and "mr blue sky"(thats in a volkswagen commercial). Also be sure to listen to the song The Mighty Quinn, by Bob Dylan, Manfred Mann, or the dead.

These are all European power metal...my fav genre.
Blind Guardian
Nightwish
Manticora
Kamelot
Helloween
Edguy
They're all good bands...here's some good black metal:
Sympony X (BEST NARRATIVE SONGS EVER. Get Wicked and look at its lyrics...beauty at its best.)
Cradle of Filth (They're nearly screeching death metal, but with taste)
I can't think of much else right now.

I want that album, I never have any money though. I like the solitary american album. But more covers than I wanted.

Trent Reznor actually loves "hurt" by johnny cash. He said it made him cry to see the video. That's the wierdest thing to hear from him..and when it's on CMT.

And cradle of filth isn't bad. Sometimes they get on my nerves. But good music still.
