| Sasha is one of my all-time favorites. I listen to electronic music a lot, but I don't know many other people who do. It kind of limits my choices...

| I dislike Digweed, Sasha, Seaman, Oaklenfold, Darude, you name it, I pretty much have a strong dislike for them. I preffer more root electronic, but for non root electronica, i'll recommend my favorites. For trance, I recommend Goa Gil, Infected Mushroom, Skazi, Bonky, Fongus of Light, Space Cat, Analog Pus.sy (Edit: this message board-word censor thing is really starting to piss me off), P.Cok, Sandman (AKA Green House Effect), S- Range, Astral Projection (AKA SFX), Urban Cop, Ketha Minth, Chi AD, Brain Bubbles, Cosmosis, and BLT. For IDM, Ambience, Juriko Noriko, Soulo, John Tejeda, Contriva, Komeit, Dat Politics, Safety Scissors. Aphex Twin (even though someone already said him, just thought I mention him again ), Future Sound of London, Snooze, Two Lone Swordsmen, Orb, Tortoise.and IMO, Boards of Canada, Zero 7, and Antarctica are jokes for IDM, ambience, or any type of music. Others such as experimental, kraut rock, space rock: Jean Michel Jarre, Space, Space Age, Brian Eno, Harmonia, Harold Budd, Kraftwerk, Hans-Joachim Roedelius, Roger Eno, Dieter Moebius, John Cage, Klaus Schulze. I can go on. but I wont. Well, time for sleep, later

For Zero 7, well, i remember reading something considering them IDM, well, i had my doubts, burned it off of a friend, listen to it a bunch of times, and was more laughable than likable, in my own opinion that is. Antarctica, maybe you'll like them, i know i didnt, but the bong water song is their best out of the entire album. Well, sorry to upset you with my opinion, though i can understand why you were offended, I think we all get that way when we here something bad bout our favorite groups or solo musicians. though dont take it too seriously, your talking to someone who has a very picky taste for music. well, later | |

| I have a harder taste with electronic music. I love Hardcore Tech. and it's sub-genres, except for "wanna be" Hardcore, ie. UK Hardcore. For me, nothing beats the aggressive-harmonistic-serenity of real Hardcore music. The vibrations from the biggest bass drum you've ever heard constantly pouding your body to bits, and it sounds good to boot, what more could you want when you wanna party and just go crazy? Noize Suppressor, Neophyte, Promo, Hellfish, Producer, Manu Le Malin, Miro, The Masochist, The Prophet, Angerfist, Rotterdam Terror Corps, Nosferatu, Endymion, Geoff Da Chef, Dione, Bass-D & King Matthew, G-Town Madness, Chozen Few, Nasenbluten. They're mostly Dutch, Italian, French, German and Australian producers. Oh my god, i'd shoot my load if I got all them at one event. Nup, that's impossible. I like some trance as well. I just recently (on 4/20 as a matter of fact) saw Infected Mushroom, that's some damn nice psytrance. The trance scene ain't my thing though, so I don't really know names of artists, I just know i've heard some awesome trance in the past. Breaks and DnB is made for cruising and chilling, it's awesome. I haven't heard much, but Plump DJs are cool, and so are some of Aphrodites tracks. Again, it's not my much my scene, but there's plenty of good stuff out there. For more commercial electronic music, I like The Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Sonic Animation, Sash!, Moby, Faithless and Fatboy Slim. The first three especially, those guys could own a party alone, that's not to say the other four couldn't as well, heh. Oh wait, how could I forget Scooter? Sure, they're commercial as hell now, but if you asked people who they were a few years ago, they'd think your english was broken. They're coming to Sydney in September, and it's going to be one the biggest parties Sydney has ever seen. I truely don't understand the people who say "electronic music sucks". Sure, to each his own, but for someone to say that electronic music sucks as a whole is a bit unbelievable. I put it down to not enough exposure, ignorance and/or close-mindedness. Electronic music is an infinite cave of diamond (or mithril if you're a Tolkien fan).

| Well well well, Plump dj's happen to be skinny yet so phat. They are going to be huge as if they are not already. Im into more of the breakbeat scene. Breaks are BIG in Florida this is the jaded state of breaks. Personally i spin breaks and jungle. Anybody ever heard of a house dj named Donald Glaude? I met him and got pics down in Miami. I dont listen to Oakenfold because he is an a**hole Paul van Dyke is cool. Cristopher Lawrence, Micro,Tiesto,Electric Skychurch,Frankie Bones I could go all day. Im thirsty thinking about it. ![]()

| untitled..no offense taken... well, think i'll promote Boards of Canada. Boards of Canada, what can i say about this obscure scottish duo, that has been making music since the early 80s. Their trademark sound of detuned synth melodies, chopped up samples and crunchy or sometimes soft hiphop beats has made them sound like noone else in the scene. Sure there are many trying to sound like them, but they dont get close to the warm and nostalgic feeling of BoC. And also they have this overal dark and sinister feel over their music, which appelas to me. BoC has always had this mystery over them. By rarely performing live and living in a commune called the Hexagon Sun, in the country side of Edinburgh and making music with allkinds of old intsruments, the most prominent beng vitage synths and old samplers. And hiding strange references to Branch Davidians and other cults in their music, with backwards masking and other audio trickery has helped them achieve this status. Also being that they have a huge back catalogue of unreleased material, only given to family and friends, has made it possible that their first official release, being pressed 100 copies, Twoism , changed owner on eBay and such for several hundreds of dollars. Fortunately Twoism was re-issued in 2002. And i hope more of their old material will be re-released again. Recommended listening: Music is Math, Julie and Candy, 1969, Dawn Chrous (Geogaddi) the whole In a Beautiful Place Out in the Country EP Roygbiv, Telephasic Workshop, Turquoise Hexagon Sun, Pete Standing Alone (Music Has the Right to Children) Sixtyniner, Twoism (Twoism) Link to much info about BoC and also i might also recommend Autechre, brittish duo from Sheffield, with roots in the hiphop and electro scene. These guys has pushed the envelope for electronic music with each release.Wizards at creating new sounds and soundscapes. If you want to familarize with them the best thing is to start with their first album Incunabula and progress to their 7th album Draft 7.30. Their latest albums are IMO their best (but earlier are all good), cuz their replay value is so high. You can listen to them over and over and still find new things in them. The same could also be said for BoCs music. Recommended listening: Bike, Eggshell (Incunabula) Yulquen, Foil (Amber) Dael,Overand,Rsdio (Tri Repetae) Bronchusevenmx24, VLetrmx21 (Garbage EP) Arch Carrier, Fold4,Wrap5 (LP5) Eidetic Casein, VI Scose Poise (Confield) Xylin Room, VL AL 5, Reniform Puls (Draft 7.30) |
