Does anybody here listen to talk radio? Here in Fl we have some pretty good stuff. The love doctors (don't let the name fool you),
The monsters of the midday. I never cared too much for Stern.
The D.C. area has some good stuff too. Anyone remember the greaseman? I'm not talking about that wack-jack morning zoo garbage either. Up the i.q. of your radio. Say it with me now.........MUSIC RADIO SUCKS. Doesn't that feel better?

I hate music radio cause it makes me feel insecure. "What, you're not strong enough to listen to your own music, so you want us to pick some for you? Alright!" That's music radio. Talk radio is alright, but I'd rather be listening to some Allman Bros or the Dead.

Soccer moms in our area somehow banned Howard Stern from the airwaves around here... I never listened to him (they banned when I was too young to understand most of his vocabulary), but now when we hear him in the car outside of here I enjoy it. Yarrrrrrrrr...

But I enjoy music radio. I hear new songs that way and listen to ones I normally wouldn't bother hearing. The commercials are what bothers me though... but maybe I like it because anything that could be considered raunchy or anything like that on the radio is banned. NPR is the only thing close to talk radio around here.

Hippocritical, egotistic...and on top of THAT, he's just "old news"! I used to be a fan until he dumped his wife!

I agree about music radio 'sucking' these days...you should see the way these jackass music directors pick the tunes that get played! It's all computerized programs that generate daily 'play-lists'...and GOD FORBID the jock decides to play something HE/SHE THINKS the audience might like! Nowadays with these monopolistic corporations (...cough clearchannel...cough cough) a jock is SURE to get a call from the program director should they hear something that isn't on the 'list'!

Talk-radio is also going downhill IMO! Creativity is waning these days...and it seems unless you've got naked women in the control room or you're an 'ultra-conservative', you're not going to get the ratings you once had! It's BS, and a sad commentary on the way audiences listen to the radio!

Some favorites of MINE:

Tom Leykis is OK...but still shadows Stern at times with some bits!

Rick & Suds in Miami...just a coupla funny guys who can deliver the laughs without being TOO raunchy! Their 'spit polls' and 'pay phone challenges' were hysterica!

Neil Rogers...the best thing that ever happened to Miami! He gets 'down and dirty'...but STILL "theatre of the mind"!

I gotta give kudos to the jocks of the past like Wolfman, Tuna and those I grew up with! Clever, creative, funny as hell...and all while playing songs that rarely hit the three minute mark! And these guys all did it without naked women in their control room!

Have you ever heard of art bell? Crazy s**t! When i was a kid up in D.C., anytime i was grounded i could only have a radio. I would listem to A.M. talk. I love talk radio. Payola free baby!

I don't think Howard Stern comes on here on the radio, but it is on tv. I don't really like him though cause one time someone requested NOFX but Stern hated it and turned it off. NOFX put that on one of their cds too, lol. The show is ok, but it's really superficial and **** I mean if I wanna look at pornstars -- I'll watch porn.

I can't STAND radio music. There's so much garbage on the airwaves. It's cause one or two companies own all the stations so they're all clones. It's so bad. Sometimes they play good shyt on the college/university stations though.

It's like that in the USA too! Colleges and schools are allowed more creative expression when it comes to what goes out over the airwaves!

Sometimes late at night you can catch a mood some dude in the college station is in, and hear something you'd NEVER hear played on the other radio station "jukeboxes"!
