also, if you look at useage stats, metallica isn't even in the top ten most downloaded from the P2P that let's you check the stats.
Good, it means more people are buying the albums instead of stealing them.

if metallica can only get money from suing, good, it means their on their way out.
Metallica's got enough money, they sued to make a point.

Now, run along...

The point is not whether Metallica sucks or not, and though I have not listened to their new album I can tell you that from what I've heard, they have gone to hell since the black album. Yes, the one with "Enter Sandman" on it.

The point is that Metallica is not doing it for the music, they are doing it for their bank accounts. It will probably be argued that most bands are not doing it for the music, but they do not seem to be as greedy as Metallica. Yes, Metallica defeated Napster, but through their use of guys in suits called 'lawyers' they further alienated their old fans with long hair that drink a bit too much.

Not only has the music changed, but the people in the band have also.

It doesn't surprise me that they did some sh*t like that. They are sellouts. All they care about is their money. In my opinion, after the Black Album, I think all went downhill. They piss me off with their new, slow, sound, and it sucks. They try to be hard on this new cd but it still sucks.

...and more and more people are realizing that every day. The problem is the hardcore new fans who blindly follow their recently extensive greedy hypocrisy, down to every bloody lyric and speach from the band. They have become the leper messiahs, the band, not the robot's that fuel them. Money and the lust for it destroyed their souls.

Default It reminds me...

...of the George Harrison debacle, where he was sued because of the similarities between 'My Sweet Lord' and the Chiffons' 'She's So Fine'!

The 2 songs DO sound simiar...but if I'm not mistaken, it was thrown outta court because he was just using the same chord progression.

You guys are ate up. You sound like my mother when it comes to Marylin Manson... "Devil, devil, devil."

As I have said before, what is wrong with growing up? What is wrong with wanting money that is rightfully yours? If someone figured out a way to steal things from me and "share" them with everyone else, would I be a bad guy, just for trying to get my **** back? When Metallica started out, they were kids. They have been through a lot since then, and their music reflects this. You guys have no idea. I hope that Metallica does a duet with Eminem just to make all you guys hate them even more. I wish that everyone would start hating Metallica, that way I could be the only fan. Here I go being 'greed filled' again...

Metallica is my country, and I will defend them till my death. I am on a mission... "Seek and Destroy"...

doesn't matter. music is free. i can pick up my guitar and play One and get tribute cash for it, and there's not a darn thing anyone can do about it.

why is it okay for bands to cover music and not okay for napster to distribute it?

furthermore, according to many surveys, people who download some songs go and buy albums if they like the songs they heard after downloading. Metallica does have plenty of money, Lars is just greedy.

Love of money chased our people from their homes, and is chasing love of music from the music business.

Crazy horse, I usually enjoy your posts, but you've been beaten.

I think I'd like a duet between eminem and metallica, that'd be pretty cool

Care to explain how I've been "beaten", and is "beaten" a word?

I can't speak for every Metallica fan, I can only speak for myself. As for me, Metallica is so much more than just a band, and no person can take that away from me. I have listened to Metallica since I can remember, and they have helped through some very rough times. I am not trying to "win" at anything, so there is no way I have been "beaten" when it comes to Metallica. Metallica is my favorite group ever, and that has not yet been taken from me, and I seriously doubt that if and when it is taken from me, that anyone here on CheapTalk will have anything to do with it. When it comes to Metallica and 'my world' (the world as it pertains to me), in a sense, I can never be "beaten". I will continue to blare Metallica everywhere I go, and I will continue to laugh at Napster. For I am a Metalliholic, hear me jam...

Keep on smokin'...
