Default metallica going way too far

metallica is sueing a canadian band to try to get 50% royalties because the band used E and F chords in their songs...so now they own musical chords? i have no respect for them..that's crazy to try to keep a small band on an indy label down over the use of chords...

they're also one of the bands responsible for contributing to the shut down of napster. it's not a suprise they did this, either. They're greedy and want to maximize their profits even if it requires hurting small bands.

even though i am no fan of metallica, this story was a hoax. the lead singer of the band that is supposedly being sued started it all. they said they wanted to see if people would believe that metallica would actually go so far as to sue over musical chords. i believed it at first, so that shows how much metallica sue over stupid ****.

Yes, that story is false. A fake news site posted it, and even tricked fark.com and Ananova into thinking it was real, so they posted it. Check this out.

LOL St. Anger sounds like such SH!t. Its all recorded one to one track live. Hmm? i dont know, but generally bands who wont take the time to record their songs properly or on multiple tracks or to mix their songs Dont sound too good. It's acceptable for a private person to do that, but for any band more recent then the 1950's, thats an awful idea. Phil Spector was the first person to ever record with an equally retarded idea, he put a choir of vocalists on one microphone from the seats of an auditorium. He thought it would give a great ambiance and full sound. It sounds awful, its been put into use on so many of those oldies songs if you listen to redneck oldies radio. Phil Spector sucks. Metallica Sucks, remember their duet with Ja Rule? HAAAHAH

Default I was gonna leave it alone, I swear...

... but those are my boys.
Metallica does not sue over "any stupid thing", and the whole basis of bashing them in this thread is a lie. Yeah, Metallica sued Napster, and Napster lost. Why does that even matter? St. Anger does not suck, sorry, you are wrong. I think it's the closest thing to their earlier work since, well, their earlier work. Everyone I talk to who is "Metallica deprived" always tells me, "Well, I like their older stuff..." Then I say something like, "Oh really, then what's your favorite album," and they come out and tell me, "They're first one, the one with Enter Sandman on it..." Now that is funny and shows how much some people really know about something that they don't like. And to all you phat phuckers who don't like Metallica... hahahaha, Metallica - 1, Napster - 0. Napster = dead = good job Lars...

i'm not even gonna get into the metallica sucking convo, because their suckage is self-evident

however, about the napster being dead thing: napster isn't dead, it's servers are somewhat shut down, and there's lots more of them

and there's so many more peer to peer programs out there.

also, if you look at useage stats, metallica isn't even in the top ten most downloaded from the P2P that let's you check the stats. if metallica can only get money from suing, good, it means their on their way out.
