| you get sick because you can't experience this song more and be a part of it. This sounds a little dramatic but there are songs that i like _so_ much, but at the same time it's hard for me to listen to them because they touch something so deep inside me but sort of leave me hanging and keep me seperated. It must be something like a crack addicts want of always having more and more. i listen to my favorite song in the world and i know it's so right, it's onto something meaningful (for me at least), but at the same time it leaves me with the feeling that there are things 1000 times greater than it to be experienced. It makes my head want to explode. I feel addicted. I get a rush. But I can never get enough.

| Yeah I know what you mean. I think. Like when you think of a song you really wanna hear, you feel as if you are going to be content after you hear it. During the song I don't really reach the "contentment" stage, if you will. It kind of feels as if once they get to a certain note it will resolve your desire to hear the song, but it never does. Not sure if thats what you were getting at, but thats how I sometimes feel. |

| Yeah, if I have a song I love, I listen to it as infrequently as possible, because it keeps my desire for the song stronger. Similar to drugs, in a way, don't use them too much or they'll get boring.

| yeah you guys are gettin at it, but it's more. It's really hard to describe because its like a strong urge but there's no word for it and i don't fully understand it. All i know is that I want to do more than just listen to the song, not in the sense that i want to dance to it or something, but i want to interact with it. it's really strange but i would like to hear other peoples thoughts on it or similar reactions. |

| Man, that's what it's all like. When I hear a really good song - like a really good song. none of this new crap, just a classic example of exquisite songwriting, that really means something and touches me in a way that if a woman touched me that way, I would say 'oh yeah, that's the spot', I have no desire other than to listen to that song as much as I possibly can, and even listen to it while it's playing. Sometimes this makes me want to learn to play the song on something, which always makes the song feel more special to you, for you can share it with others the way it sounds to you, what it means to you, and it's great. I feel that way about the Johnny Cash song 'Daddy Sang Bass'. It touches me deep inside and makes me feel what he's saying and I can see it and it's next to me for 2 minutes; then it's gone. But it'll come back, and that's what makes it great.

| strangly enough the songs that affect me this way are Drum n Bass. no lyrics, and no chance of me ever performing them. |

| Every 311 song makes me feel that way. That's why I know how to play all of their songs on guitar and bass...I try to be a part of the song The vocals in What Was I Thinking? (ESPECIALLY live!) just make me have a joygasm in my ears. Everyone needs to hear that song at least once. And when their single Creatures came out this summer I literally listened to it all day (at home, in the car, at parties, etc.) on repeat for a week...hell I tabbed it out after listening to it for an hour ![]() |
