Default New Age type music

My dad is kind of into this stuff, usually i don't bat an eye but ever since I started smoking I kind of find this stuff very interesting to listen to. It's almost the songs themselves have so much personality you can close your eyes and imagine an entire scene to the music...

A track recently that has really been playing on my computer is off of the Black Hawk Down soundtrack, and it's called "Gortoz a ran"

It's a really beautiful song. I found it being used as the soundtrack to a star wars fan film called "Art of the Saber" (which is an awesome video to check out)

Also, I put together a CD of famous sountrack themes...Like I threw in this "Gladiator Medley" which is the best of the soundtrack cleverly edited into a single song.

Also, sad to admit it...but Yanni is interesting, so is Cusco...

Who could forget Vangelis?! This stuff just begs to be listened to high with headphones. I sugest the following tracks to really fire up your imagination:

-Paul Oakenfold's version of "Rachel's Song"

-Excalliber (it's very "epic"..you've all heard this before!)

-Conquest of Paradise (reminds me of Communist Russia, or some kind of Sherpa line high in the Himmalayas (sp?), or maybe a russian millitary convoy through the windswept steps of Siberia).

-Antarctica (very strange and immersive)

Also, another great song to listen to is by "Ennio Morricone", and it's the theme for the movie "The Mission" I can almost picture a happy little village in the jungle or somthing...people working and doing their part here and there...then it slows down and then I can imagine these impressive mountains and gorges in this foggy jungle morning...

If anyone is into this type of music at all, can you sugest some new stuff that I might not have heard? I'm serious guys...it may sound stupid but when your high this music really is totally immersive. Im a fan of many types of music...

Ahhh, the Black Hawk Down soundtrack. I love the 17 minute remix of "Minstrel Boy" by Joe Strummer and the Mescaleros on that one.

Some more 'New Agey' music that I love:

Enya, some of her stuff anyway. It's really spacey and ethereal, and really relaxing to listen to, the sort of music that conjures up "cool" colors.

Afro Celt Sound System, now known as The Afrocelts. Som of my favorite music. It's a lot more upbeat than Enya, though there are very relaxing songs by them, their music is very rhythm driven and thus harder and faster. Some of their songs are VERY infectious, and you can't help but move to them.

Actually, that's pretty much it, I'm not altogether fond of New Age music, but there is what I do like.
