|  Jaco Pastorius Oh my god, I picked up his self-titled effort today and it is incredible. Jazz bass at its finest, along with some kickass collaborations with Herbie Hancock. GO GO JACO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

| Jaco is Legendary I have "Word of Mouth", a very accomplished musical work. Jaco was a musical monster, one of the brightest ever. He was beaten to death by some club owner in the 1980's, about something I have forgotten: Yahoo Launch Story Definately look into Weather Report a this is one of the main places to listen to Jaco's work. | JACK BRUCE! I definitely agree re: Jaco....He was innovative,brilliant. But the man who you should also get into because his solo work ran the gamut from ROCK to JAZZ to FUSION to LATIN is JACK BRUCE. He could've definitely used his fame and rep from being the lead vocalist, bassist,keyboardist, cellist and main songwriter("White Room", "Sunshine Of Your Love", etc) of CREAM....but he maintained the highest musical integrity and did /does his own genius thing.....Check out his solo CD's HE BE THE BASS PLAYER's BASS PLAYER!!!!! |
