| With the release of Britney spears new video 'toxic', it has dawned on me that maybe using sex to sell music has gone a bit too far. First of all, anyone with a right and left sided brain knows this is 'look but dont listen' music. Popstars like britney and christina I think have gone over the line. With a large and dedicated Fanbase mostly made up of young girls their music videos seem more to be marketed towards older males, eg: christina's 'dirty' video and britney's 'toxic' video. In both you can see them in sexy poses, wearing little to nothing, and heavily flirting with a variety of men. Not only do I think this a pathetic marketing ploy to sell music, but is also giving young girls the wrong idea about their sexuality. Opinions please.

| Uh oh...the one topic that makes even open minded people sounds like prudes I'd have to agree with pretty much everything you said. If the music was good and the performers had talent, it might be a different story. But this type of music just tells girls that being a slut will get them so many things that talent and intelligence won't. See Jessica Simpson for more information.

| Dear Prudence......I don't understand how you think little girls will get the worng idea of their sexuality. Back in the 80's madonna was doing the same thing, it's a recurring cycle. Say a 15 yr old girl watched the music video, tell me why she would buy the cd. Sex is natural and I think people get too carried away with the topic. |

![]() the world has become so desensitized to the extremes back in the fifties, Elvis could move his hips and make girls cry; now they need Justin timberlake taking off his shirt and doing pelvic thrusts. were not far away from having the sexual act on stage, just to get the crowd going (yes i know, an overstatement, but you get my point) but as saying goes, "sex sells" this has been the motto of Hollywood for more than a half a century, and its probably never going to change. i really doubt that movies will stop relying on the sex scene or tit shot to sell seats, their are VERY few movies out their that are actually meant to be taken as artistic anymore, its all become what movie will have the biggest gross, or the best special effects.
