Yes is an increadible band. the fact that 3 men can make so much music together is beyond me... and the drummer, i forgot his name, is one of the best ive seen in my lifetime...what really amazes me the most though is pink floyds music. if you're into Yes im sure you will find floyds music enjoyable. | |

| i saw yes live 2 summers ago and it was one of the best experiences of my lifetime, they are truly one of the best bands out there. its not 3 musicians dude, its 5 now, and for a little while was 6 with another guitarist. yea, they do roundabout, but theres better stuff... Relayer and Close to the Edge are great albums that need to be heard all the way through but its worth it. |

| Yes and Time and again are two fine albums. These were the first two and have quite a different sound with Peter Banks on guitar. However, it was the third album called simply "The Yes Album" where they hit their stride. By adding Steve Howe they began writing all of their own material. Starship Trooper and Seen All Good People hold up just as well today as they did back in 1971. Incidently, that was the same year I saw them for the first time............crazy how some of us old farts are still around and are even able to figure out how to post on these new fangled computer chat room gizmos, huh? ![]() |

| And amazing how those old farts make music that, as you say, holds up well enough to pull in us young whippersnappers. I saw Yes at the Merriweather Post Pavillion in the summer of '02...best show I've ever seen. I love how their songs are long enough to be compared to the likes of Phish and the Dead by those who don't know any better, but unlike the jam bands, they don't feel like they were put together on the fly. Each song is as long as it is for a reason, and each is mapped out. To deliberately craft songs that long, yet that well planned, is simply genius.
