Default The Dead

My friends and I bought tickets to go see the dead this summer at Alpinevalley. I would assume that without Jerry they cannot put on a show like they used to, Has anyone seen them recently? How good/bad are they? Reguardless of the concert quality is should be fun roadtripping there and being at alpine valley.

What are you talking about? They played in Texas on Fourth of July with Willie Nelson last summer.

Yeah, but they ain't never come to Canada. And none of the off-shoots never come to Alberta. Not that I blame them so much, but it's kind of a *****.

Oh well, I'll find a car, and I'll go someday

I think it depends alot on the venue though with the dead, for some reason I hear alot of talk that they don't really support the same atmosphere. Of course, I haven't been to any of their shows.

Im going to their august 15th show in bristow VA, and maybe their 17th and 18th shows in raleigh and charlotte NC.

The other ones is just a different band, with all the same members, so that people won't get dissapointed that Jerry isn't there.

Such other "offshoots" as someone said earlier are the other ones, ratdog (bob weir), Phil Lesh and friends (hmmm), and there are a few more that i can not think of off the top of my head.

What amazes me about them is that people (like myself) are willing to pay 40$ for lawn tickets to go see a band that has been around for 36 or so years. That's called profitability.
